Elections and Voting Matter

Our nation is changing in so many ways and with elections coming up it seems that the main thrust of many running for office is to buy votes by promising free this and free that.  The Bible is very clear about the need for us to provide for ourselves, to not be a burden on those around us.
“He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.”    Proverbs 12:11 KJV
As a young and middle age man, I made it a practice for many years to read the book of Proverbs each month, the 31 chapters fit well for a chapter each day.  The truths that are there are just as true as they were thousands of years ago when they were written.
“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.”   Proverbs 12:24 KJV
Have you ever wondered why Christianity is under attack in most communist countries?  Think about it, the Bible truly teaches us to be diligent and work, to till the soil in the vernacular of the day.
“How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.”   Proverbs 6:9-11 KJV
“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”    2 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV
We are taught to care for the widows and elderly, the disabled, and the folks that are in situations that they are unable to do for themselves, but we are not doing a service when we do for them that could do it but are too lazy or trifling to work.  I know I may get some flack for this, but there is nothing free, someone will have to foot the bill.  Christianity teaches us to honor God and give the first fruits of our labor, not to expect God ( or governments) to provide handouts.
Always be willing to step up and help those that are in real need, but pray and think hard about what you are doing. Be a faithful steward always, but focus on teaching rather than just giving handouts.
When I look at the political correctness that is so prevalent in our country today it makes me sick to my stomach.  The idea that we must be all-inclusive and accepting of everything and anything that anyone wants to do, be and claim is right in their eyes so therefore it has to be right in our eyes also is absolute BS.  I don’t care what you may think is right, if it is not according to the word of God it is not nor will it ever be right.  You can dress up a pig in fine silk but it is still a pig and will wallow in the first mud hole it comes to.
This idea that we must tell our children that if they want to live as a different gender, that it is okay to fall in love with and lay with those of the same gender, and marry someone of the same gender is so wrong it makes me want to puke!  I know that I am ranting this morning but I do not apologize at all.  If we don’t have the backbone to stand up and say whoa, this is not right, this action is not of God’s Divine will and will send you straight to hell, then we are personally just as guilty of that behavior as the person committing the behavior.
“When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”
Ezekiel 3:18-19 KJV
We must love people enough to be honest with them. Yes, it is possible to love the person yet reject the sin in their lives.  And yes, we can judge the behavior that is going to send people straight to hell in a handbasket.  If you don’t understand what those things are just take time to read Galatians 5 and it is very clear.
Through the Bible God talks about the need for repentance. Repentance is the prerequisite that brings joy to the Father. Having once been saved, one that is brought back into the fold of God is more important than the multitude of the righteous according to the word of God.  Talk to your children and be honest with them. Tell them the truth of God’s word and the importance of living as God would have them live and the joy that will bring into their lives. Then walk in the spirit as God would have you walk as an example that they may see Jesus in you as well.
“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”    Galatians 5:24-25 KJV

We will be having elections in just a few weeks from the time this article is published and I am sincerely asking all of God’s people to get out and vote. Don’t vote for a party but vote for those that support God’s word, His teachings.  Get on your knees and pray like never before, then get up off your behind and go vote for leaders that don’t just talk a good game but that stand for truth, stand for life, and stand for marriage between and man and a woman.  Vote for someone that knows that men are born male and women are born female and that this is not an option.  Vote for leaders that will lead our military in ways that make sense, and that is not trying to push CRT mess down everyone’s throat.  Vote for leaders that believe that a country that does not have borders is just an open piece of ground, not a country.  Decide to do all in your power by voting to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, one nation under God!
