Sunny Side of The Stream: Louisiana Law Seeks to Protect Minors From Porn Sites – The Stream

Happy weekend!

A new law in Louisiana will require porn sites to verify that their users in Louisiana aren’t minors. They’ll have to use a digital ID system called LA Wallet.

Will minors figure out how to get around this? I would imagine so. But there’s another interesting feature of the law. According to an article on Tech Crunch, porn sites can be sued if a minor accesses their content. Perhaps future lawsuits, or the risk of them, will motivate porn companies to keep minors off their sites.

People Praying and Damar Doing Better

In other happy news, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin continues to improve. He’s had his breathing tube removed and is able to talk. Hamlin has received an outpouring or prayers and support since he collapsed on the field from a cardiac arrest during a game Monday night with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was resuscitated on the field and has been in ICU since. The Stream’s Nancy Flory reported on an on-air prayer by ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky for Hamlin.
