EXCLUSIVE: Summary Judgment Clears Sidney Powell from Texas State Bar’s Accusations: Judge Rules ‘No Evidence’ – American Faith

On March 1, 2022, the State Bar of Texas filed a lawsuit against Sidney Powell, a lawyer who was part of former President Donald Trump’s legal team, alleging six ethical violations arising from the election fraud suits she filed on behalf of electors following the 2020 presidential election.

Powell stated at the time that she looked forward to presenting evidence to clear her name: “The Texas bar decision was totally expected, but it is an unfortunate and poor decision by the Bar,” she said. “No lawyer could practice law under the rule they would set for me.”

On Wednesday, a Texas judge ruled in favor of Powell, stating that the State Bar had “no evidence” to support their claims.

The judge’s summary ruling reads: “On the Commission’s express motion for continuance of Powell’s partial motion for summary judgment, and to the extent, if any, the Commission intended to include Powell’s no evidence motion, the Court rules that the request, being unsupported by affidavit and wholly failing to comply with Texas Rules of Civil Procedure 251 and 252, is DENIED.”

The case underwent full discovery, with multiple depositions and Powell’s production of over 55,000 pages of documents and a massive privilege log.

In an exclusive statement to American Faith, Powell emphasized that despite having ample time to conduct thorough investigations, including multiple depositions and a plethora of email and document productions, the State Bar was unable to present any evidence that would prove she acted in violation of ethical rules.

“The Bar had more than a year to investigate it all, took all the depositions it wanted, including mine, we produced over 55,000 pages of emails and documents, and they did not have a shred of evidence that I did anything wrong or violated any ethical rules,” Powell said.

Powell provided information about her organization, DefendingTheRepublic.org, and how it relies on support from donors to continue its work.

She also mentioned that her personal website, SidneyPowell.com, includes information on her book, “LICENSED to LIE: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice,” which she encourages everyone to read.

Additionally, Powell noted that her organization offers free newsletters for those interested in staying updated on their efforts.

“It’s a good day for the Rule of Law,” she told American Faith, “thanks to a smart, hardworking, courageous judge who did not let political pressure or the press control her decision—despite their best efforts to do so.”
