Sen. Fetterman and the Dark Thirst for Power – The Stream

A weekend tweet from John Cardillo sent shivers.

Is Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman really brain dead? We don’t know. At this point it is just a rumor. What we do know is Fetterman is far worse off than his staff wants us to believe. They’ve got him hospitalized at Walter Reed for clinical depression, but don’t fret, Fetterman will be back to work in a couple weeks.

Of course, these are the same people who first said his May 2022 stroke wasn’t too bad. And then said he’d be recovered from the stroke by the time he was sworn in as senator. Two dreadful lies.

We now know the truth. He’s deteriorated even since his disastrous debate performance. CNN and the New York Times both report that Fetterman was hospitalized because he had lost the ability to take care of himself. He wasn’t eating or drinking water, sources told CNN, due to the severe depression. That had led to his first hospitalization “His lack of eating and drinking water contributed to lightheadedness. He was hospitalized earlier this month in Washington, DC after feeling lightheaded.”

Staff Plays Down Illness While Wife Plays

So who’s been looking after Fetterman? Not his wife. Fetterman’s family didn’t come with him to Washington. That’s not unusual for members of Congress. But senators don’t usually arrive in bad mental and physical shape and in need of constant assistance. Sure, wife Gisele was happy to take her photo with Kamala on swearing-in day. But in his hours of need? Forget it. In fact, Gisele took off to Canada with the kids the minute Fetterman entered Walter Reed. To avoid the “media circus,” she claims.

Don’t try to tell me you needed to go to Canada to avoid the press and process what’s happening to your husband. Your husband’s hospitalized at Walter Reed. There are plenty of places an easy drive to DC where you can hang out without getting hassled.

Who cares for Fetterman? Who cares for power?

The idea that Gisele’s the “real” senator is so prevalent it earned a shot Monday by the Babylon Bee.

Perpetuating the Fraud

Fetterman was overwhelmed in his new job as Senator. His stroke leaving him nearly helpless at processing what others were saying. The technology brought in to help him along wasn’t helping him much at all. He simply cannot do the job. And he was completely miserable trying.

John Fetterman never, ever should have been put into office. He should have dropped out of the campaign. The stress was exactly the wrong thing for someone recovering from a stroke.

The voters of Pennsylvania should have been told the truth. They were defrauded.

But, by George Soros, the Democrats had to save their Senate majority. Even if it killed John Fetterman. And, by Gaia, the media helped them do it. And is still helping them. CNN, even as they report on a U.S. Senator who was incapable of taking care of himself, let alone of doing his job, are celebrating his bravery at shining the light on mental illness. That was their focus.

CNN quoted a doctor as saying there’s about an 80% chance Fetterman will be able to overcome the clinical depression with vigorous treatment, and be able to leave the hospital in a month or so, if not sooner.

The local Pennsylvania paper Tribune-Review chimed in:

Experts who spoke last week with the Tribune-Review said stressors associated with the start of a new career while still in recovery mode from a serious medical ailment can contribute to chronic mental health issues. With proper treatment these issues do not have to be an obstacle to future job performance, they said.

Great. But both these are dealing with the clinical depression. Not his capacity to do the job because of the continued impact of the stroke and heart issues. Not whether returning is the right thing to do.

Yes, we earnestly pray that Fetterman is on the mend. We pray he is healed of his clinical depression. And yeah, over time overcomes all the effects of the stroke.

But should he return to the U.S. Senate?

Delay the Inevitable as Long as You Can

Of course not. For his own sake, that of his family, his country and the good people of the Commonwealth, Fetterman needs to resign. Anything other than that is cruel. Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said last week he’d “reject” any call to pressure Fetterman to step down. Of course, the Soros-funded lackey would say that.

Which gets us to the second part of Cardillo’s tweet. Democrats don’t want Fetterman to resign to avoid a special election they may well lose. Cardillo fixes the date they want to drag Fetterman past as August 18. Looking at the Pennsylvania election calendar, August 18 doesn’t seem to have any significance.

However, Wednesday, August 9 does.

According to Pennsylvania law:

Whenever a vacancy shall occur in the office of United States Senator, said vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired term by the vote of the electors of the State at a special election to be held at the time of the next general or municipal election, occurring at least ninety (90) days after the happening of such vacancy.

August 9 is 90 days before Pennsylvania’s next municipal election on November 7, 2023.

Which means, if Fetterman resigns or dies before August 9, the special election to replace him will be this November, a mere eight months away. An open election which the Republicans may well win … and thus have 50 votes in the Senate. Sorry, Chuckie. Sorry, Soros.

If Fetterman lasts past August 9, then the voters duped in 2022 have to wait until the next municipal election in November 2024 (assuming Fetterman does step down or passes) and Democrats retain their majority for an extra year.

Meaning, whether brain-dead or simply incapable of carrying out his duties, the only way Fetterman is forced out is if he misgenders somebody.

How ghastly can our politics be?

UPDATE: Fetterman’s Staff has released an update. Does it smell like roses or manure?
