‘Hogwarts Legacy’ Now One of the Fastest-Selling Video Games of All Time Despite Woke Boycott Attempts – American Faith

J.K. Rowling’s latest venture, “Hogwarts Legacy,” has become one of the fastest-selling video games of all time, despite attempts by the left to boycott the release due to the author’s views on transgender issues, The Daily Mail reports.

The Harry Potter-inspired game, developed by Warner Bros. Games, has generated $850 million in revenue and sold 12 million copies, according to figures released by the company.

This makes “Hogwarts Legacy” one of the most lucrative launches ever for the Warner Bros. Discovery media empire.

However, the game faced controversy before its release, with some accusing Rowling of so-called transphobia for emphasizing biological sex over so-called gender identity.

Critics also gave it a poor review, with Wired giving it a rating of 1 out of 10, citing that it didn’t have enough “queer” representation.

Despite the negative press and attempts by some to boycott the game, “Hogwarts Legacy” continued to gain popularity.

The woke mob, as some have labeled them, attempted to interfere with people playing the game on the streaming site Twitch, but this did not deter the game’s fans.

Many attribute the game’s success to Pottermania, which has allowed Rowling to continue to be a prominent voice for science and reason.

Jessie Earl, a trans YouTuber, who has 210,000 subscribers, called for a boycott of the game and said “any support of something like Hogwarts Legacy is harmful,” Daily Mail notes.

Rowling accused the YouTuber of “purethink” and she tweeted in response, “The truly righteous wouldn’t just burn their books and movies but the local library, anything with an owl on it and their own pet dogs.”

Despite the controversy, “Hogwarts Legacy” has proven to be a massive success and has further solidified Rowling’s place in pop culture.
