Trump Leads Republican Primary with 55% Support, Emerson Poll Shows – American Faith

A recent poll conducted by Emerson shows that former President Donald Trump is still leading the 2024 Republican primary race with 55% of the vote.

Meanwhile, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has experienced a four-point decrease in support since last month, with only 25% of Republican primary voters backing him for the GOP nomination.

Former Vice President Mike Pence has 8% support, while former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has 5% support.

Both Pence and Haley have increased their support by two percentage points since last month.

However, it is worth noting that Trump’s dominance in the polls has remained largely unchanged.

In terms of the generic congressional ballot, the poll reveals that 45% of voters plan to support the Republican candidate, while 43% plan to support the Democratic candidate.

Thirteen percent remain undecided.

The poll also found that the economy is the top issue for 41% of US voters, followed by healthcare, immigration, and “threats to democracy” all tying for second place at 10%.

Other issues of concern include crime, education, and abortion access.
