Sunny Side of The Stream: God is ‘Drawing a Lot of People to Jesus,’ Evangelist to Gen Z Says – The Stream

Nick Hall is the founder of Pulse, a ministry that seeks to “bring the hope of Jesus to the next generation.” He told The Stream that at the start of 2023, “we really just felt that there was something that God was wanting to do to reach students now with the gospel.” “We said, ‘we want to bring the gospel to campuses,’ and we’ve seen more students — a higher percentage — responding to the Gospel than any time in 22 years. So it’s like God is stirring something.”

When a move of God started at Asbury University in February, Hall went to Asbury. “I was just crying and encountering the love of God.” Hall went back to Minneapolis, where he’s from, and had an event that lasted 53 hours. “People getting healed. People coming to Jesus.” He then felt led by God to book Rupp Arena, which is a drive of less than 17 miles from Asbury University.

“We booked it on Thursday and the event was on Sunday. And yet … God brought … thousands of people. People came to Jesus. A security worker at the venue came to Jesus. Reporters got saved,” Hall said. “God is just healing his church right now, and he’s drawing a lot of people to Jesus.”

“The prayer of revival, I think is, ‘God, start with me,’” Hall said.

Hall said he’s found there are two obstacles to what God is doing right now: our sin and our plans. “We don’t even have room, we’re too busy, to invite God to take over,” Hall said. “I think where we’re willing to say, ‘God speak to me,’ and ‘God, here’s my plan,’ I think he’s willing to come in ways that we’ve never seen.”

Hall said one man at the Feb. 26 event at Rupp Arena “came in a wheelchair, partially paralyzed, couldn’t walk. Hasn’t walked in years.” He said a man came up to him and prayed for him. He reportedly “felt a surge” in his body, and he stood up. “And this guy got on our stage and danced. Like, I am not even — I don’t even come from a charismatic background. … I’m like calling my charismatic friends asking, … ‘Help me understand what is happening right now.’ I just know that God is doing something and it’s awesome.”
