America Needs ‘Founders’ Nationalism’ – The Stream

America was founded upon Judeo-Christian values. Some today are not happy with that fact, but it is a fact, nonetheless. And inherent in those values are freedom of religion — and not just the Jewish and Christian religions, but all religions — as well as the freedom from religion.

As John Adams stated, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

True liberty requires a moral code, like the Ten Commandments, and encouragement to “love your neighbor as yourself.” And these ideas guided our Founders who did not declare the country a “Christian nation.” They did not see it as such. They saw it as “a new nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”

Christian-Bashers and Their Dog Whistles

The phrase Christian Nationalism has been tossed around a lot these days, to redefine Christians as a hateful, destructive blight taking over America, and to warn citizens of their diabolical political agenda. Enemies of Christianity define Christian Nationalism as white supremacists exhibiting one or more of the following: toxic masculinity, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and basically everybody-who-isn’t-them-phobia.

So warned, we had better take heed: the manufactured concept of Christian Nationalism is on the rise and will stunt the incredible progress made in this country in the past two years by enlightened leaders and cultural influencers on the Left who believe America and the world are currently on the right track. Non-white, inherently non-racist, people of color are constructing the road to utopia, and an equitable non-Christian heaven-on-earth is imminent.

Imminent only if Christian Nationalism as defined by the Left is held at bay.

Denial: Not Just a River in Egypt

Or might I suggest another possibility? Projection is the term used in psychology to describe a person who assigns to someone else the very unacceptable actions or problems that they themselves possess.

Have Christians been forcing their ideas and ideals on children? Has the dreaded and divisive concept of “love one another” been running amuck in society rather than held hostage behind the walls of Jesus-believing churches?

And if Christians are shouted down for espousing their old-fashioned values of love, and centuries-old traditional views on marriage and family structures, should other groups be permitted to fill the gap enforcing their own worldviews?

Gay Sharia Month

Consider gay activists on the Left. Should the country be steered by something akin to Gay Nationalism? The LGBTQMYNAMEISLEGION agenda has conquered and now holds sway over every aspect of American culture. Ask yourself: Whose influence has directed this nation over the past two years? People on the Right espousing Christianity or people on the Left brandishing pansexual activism?

Do we celebrate Christian Pride Month? Is there an official Christian flag, and if so, is it flying from the poles of state capitol buildings and festooning Fortune 500 companies? Are there Christian flags flying outside of Christian churches? Don’t Christians warn against pride in general? Isn’t there a Scripture that says, “Pride goes before the fall”?

How has forced allegiance to pansexual supremacy worked out these past two years? For example, have sex activists on the Left improved the lives of our children? Are boys and girls in kindergarten happier and healthier? Are pornographic books in libraries of elementary school children good or bad? Are field trips to drag queen story hour educational?

Honey, I Castrated the Kids!

Do we show school spirit by championing biological boys who easily shatter hard-earned records when competing as girls in girls’ sports? Will encouragement to flip genders by removing body parts and ingesting dangerous steroids exalt the spirits of children, making them happier, healthier adults or, in time, result in destroying their lives? Will any of this progress aid maturity, or will it stunt emotional and physical growth?

Christian nationalism may be a phantom bogeyman, but the Left’s gay nationalism and the havoc it is wreaking are all too real.

The First Amendment: Canceled

Can anything be done?

Perhaps, the best way to push back against the pathetic madness of this forced nationalism is to seek advice from the Bible — yes, the very Judeo-Christian playbook that leftist gay nationalists fear most. The First Amendment to the Constitution, which guarantees that free speech cannot be canceled, may itself soon be on the chopping block for cancellation.

However, while relatively free expression of ideas and ideals are still permitted, citizens must “speak the truth in love” (to use yet another frightening biblical phrase) and encourage a unifying transformation of America back to its foundation.

Can it be that the Founders’ Nationalism is the best option for America after all?
