Tennessee Capitol Protest Led by Legislators – Intercessors for America

These protestors and these legislators both demonstrated the lawlessness that seems to pervade our nation these days. Help us, God!

Resolutions to expel the three lawmakers were introduced on Monday.

While pro-trans, anti-gun [protestors] attacked police officers and legislators in the Tennessee State Capitol on Thursday, attempting to force their way onto the State House floor, their [protest] was being spearheaded by a trio of far-left legislators who took over the House lectern shouting threats of “no action, no peace.” …

Tennessee Democrat State Reps. Justin Pearson, Justin Jones, and Gloria Johnson led the insurrection at Tennessee’s State Capitol in favor of banning guns and enshrining so-called “trans rights” in the state, just days after the Nashville trans terror attack. While the three legislators stormed the lectern on the House floor, roughly 1,000 violent demonstrators clashed with police officers outside of the chambers. …

Even Democrat leadership was opposed to the radical Reps. … [protest], and blasted the three Reps. at the lectern, eventually leading them to exit the House floor. …

Despite claiming after the fact (and in the face of negative press coverage) that [protest] in Tennessee centered exclusively around banning guns and not around glorifying the militantly left-wing “trans community” in the aftermath of an anti-Christian terror attack, “trans rights” and the memory of Nashville’s trans terrorist shooter played an active role in the insurrection. …

From Fox News. Three Tennessee state lawmakers, all Democrats, were pulled from their committee assignments and could face expulsion from the legislature after they participated in storming the state Capitol during a protest against guns following last week’s school shooting.

Tennessee House Republicans voted Monday to strip committee assignments from state Reps. Justin Jones, Justin J. Pearson and Gloria Johnson, according to WPLN.

A potential expulsion for the three lawmakers could come later this week. …

Republican Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton wrote in a tweet that the lawmakers’ participation in the protest was “unacceptable.”

“Their actions are and will always be unacceptable, and they break several rules of decorum and procedure on the House floor,” he said. “Their actions and beliefs that they could be arrested on the House floor were an effort, unfortunately, to make themselves the victims. In effect, those actions took away the voices of the protestors, the focus on the six victims who lost their lives, and the families who lost their loved ones.” …
