In the wake of previously unreleased footage from the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol unrest being aired on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show, a recent Rasmussen Reports survey indicates a growing number of voters believe the event may have been instigated by undercover government agents.

According to the latest national telephone and online poll by Rasmussen Reports, 65% of likely U.S. voters now consider it probable that undercover government agents played a role in inciting the Jan 6 unrest at the Capitol.

Of these respondents, 46% regard it as “Very Likely.”

Conversely, 26% of those surveyed do not believe it is likely that the riot was incited by government agents, with 12% deeming it “Not At All Likely.”

Prior to the airing of the videos by Carlson in late February, 61% of respondents believed it was likely that undercover agents contributed to provoking the J6 riot.

The poll, which surveyed 963 likely U.S. voters, was conducted from April 12-13 and 16, 2023.

The study’s margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points, boasting a 95% confidence level.
