President Biden released a video this week announcing he is running for a second term. It’s great timing for these 31 biblical declarations for a God-fearing and godly president to lead this nation.

Do you realize that your tongue is one of your spiritual weapons of warfare? It’s true! Your spoken word can make a huge difference in our nation today if you will activate it to forth-tell God’s will.

Why does your spoken word matter? Because God is the One who speaks those things that are not as if they already were. We read this in Romans 4:17:

… (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did (Romans 4:17 NKJV, emphasis mine).

It was through the spoken word that God created the world. (See Genesis chapter 1.) He continues today to uphold all things by the word of His power, as we read in Hebrews 1:3:

… who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3 NKJV, emphasis mine).

Additionally, the Greek word for “faith”—transliterated pistis—means holding both a deep inner belief PLUS the simultaneous verbal confession of the thing. You can’t have Biblical faith without the spoken word.

We are to imitate our God, who speaks things into existence. We are also to adhere to and demonstrate true, Biblical FAITH that God will answer our prayers for righteous leadership in our nation.

In light of these things, I ask you today:

When it comes to America, are you speaking those things that are not as if they already were? In particular, are you speaking out your faith for the type of President you want God to give us?

I know it is so easy to get discouraged, but we have to “… strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed” (Hebrews 12:12-13 NKJV). America may be lame now, but she can live again!

Are you willing to speak the word of resurrection life and power over our President today? Right now, I invite you to speak these 31 confessions for a godly President out loud:

1. In the name of Jesus, I decree and declare that our nation has a godly and righteous President. Righteousness and justice are the foundations of our Presidency.
2. The angel of the Lord encamps around our righteous President and delivers them.
3. Our President loves righteousness and hates lawlessness.
4. The American President is filled with wisdom from God at a level that has not been seen since Jesus and Solomon.
5. Our President loves life and hates the shedding of innocent blood.
6. Our President is filled with the Spirit of Truth, which is the Spirit of Jesus.
7. Our President helps make only godly laws and executive orders.
8. Our President puts America first, before other countries.
9. Our President loves and is loyal to Israel.
10. Our President prays daily for the peace of Jerusalem.
11. Our President blesses the seed of Abraham, and God in turn blesses our President and our nation.
12. In the name of Jesus, I declare and decree that our President is a faithful, honorable, and trustworthy person.
13. The President of the United States of America makes and removes laws, regulations, and red tape as needed to bring righteousness and financial prosperity in our nation.
14. Our President is not a liar, but is instead an honest person.
15. Our President has extremely high godly discernment of spirits, which is a gift bestowed by the Holy Spirit of God Himself.
16. The American President loves our military and protects our troops and military equipment.
17. Our President does not involve our nation in foreign wars of which we should not be a part.
18. Our President and their cabinet remove our nation from foreign wars from which God wants us removed.
19. The Lord has given our President the tongue of the learned, that they should speak a word in due season to those who are weary.
20. The Lord wakens our President’s ears morning by morning to hear Him as a disciple.
21. The American President hears the voice of the Lord behind him or her, saying, “This is the way, walk in it”; and they always obey and never turn to the right or to the left.
22. Our President has compassion toward the poor, the downtrodden, the widow, the fatherless, and the orphan. He or she does not oppress the stranger within our gates.
23. Our President has wisdom from the Lord regarding what to do with our nation’s borders, and they enforce every godly law regarding those borders.
24. Our President prioritizes our national security and protects our interests as first priority in every godly way.
25. Our President reduces and eliminates our national debt, instead of adding to it.
26. Our President is above reproach and is immune to the attacks of the enemy.
27. The American President dwells in the secret place of the Most High and remains stable and protected under the shadow of the Almighty.
28. Our nation’s President protects, preserves, and restores our religious freedom.
29. Our President is a born-again, Holy Spirit-filled Christian.
30. He or she is a person of God’s Word, and of fasting with prayer.
31. Our President dethrones every false ideology and casts down the altars and idols of Satan, Baal, Molech, Ashtoreth, and every other false deity in our land.

Beloved, the spoken word is important. YOU can make a difference today by speaking God’s will, as is clearly evidenced in His Word, over our land. Your verbal declarations and decrees are not carnal weapons, but they are spiritual weapons—and they make a difference! Always remember 2 Corinthians 10:4-6:

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 10:4-6 NKJV).

And use your powerful words to decree and declare God’s perfect will and Word out loud over our nation!
