Atlanta Shooter Captured: Multiple Injuries, 1 Dead – American Faith

Update: CNN is reporting the Atlanta mass shooting suspect was “apprehended in Cobb County in a condominium complex near Truist Park at roughly 7:45 p.m. ET.”


Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Police Department is currently investigating an active shooter situation in the city.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Deion Patterson, pictured below (image from Atlanta PD), whom police say is armed and dangerous.

Atlanta PD indicates that information “can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or online at www.StopCrimeAtl.org” and that “Persons do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $10,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspect.”

In a series of tweets, the department has urged the public to shelter in place or stay out of the area around 1110 West Peachtree Street NW.

The situation began unfolding earlier this afternoon, with multiple injuries reported.

Four adult victims have been shot, one of whom has died.

Authorities have confirmed that the incident is taking place inside a building located on West Peachtree Street, between 12th and 13th Streets.

As of 12:42pm, no suspect has been taken into custody.

The Atlanta Police Department has called for a city-wide BOLO (Be On The Lookout) as the suspect remains at large.

Residents and workers in the area have been asked to secure their buildings and shelter in place.

Those not in the immediate vicinity are urged to stay away for their own safety.
