Russian Aerospace Forces Take Out Ukrainian Navy’s Last Combat Vessel – American Faith

In a recent development, Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov confirmed that the Aerospace Forces of Russia obliterated the final combat vessel of the Ukrainian Navy docked in the Odessa port.

The vessel, the Yury Olefirenko, was taken down by precision weapons from the Russian Aerospace Forces during a specialized military operation in Ukraine.

Konashenkov stated on Wednesday, “On May 29, the Ukrainian Navy’s last combat ship Yury Olefirenko was destroyed as a result of a strike by the Russian Aerospace Forces’ precision weapons against the anchorage of naval ships in the Odessa port.”

Prior to this aggressive move by Russia, the Ukrainian Navy had a fleet comprising around 25 battleships.

This included an assortment of five patrol vessels, six artillery boats, the Gola Pristan anti-saboteur boat, as well as the Svatovo assault boat.

Significantly, on May 9 of the previous year, an attempted incursion by Kiev to seize Snake Island in the Black Sea resulted in a disastrous outcome.

Russian forces sunk three Centaur-class armored assault boats of the Ukrainian Navy, each capable of transporting a marine infantry platoon.

The Ukrainian Navy’s repertoire also incorporated nine armored gunboats.

Among these, the Akkerman was reportedly deserted by its crew in Berdyansk, as per Rossiyskaya Gazeta, a popular Russian daily.

Apart from the aforementioned vessels, the Vinnitsa Corvette and the Yury Olefirenko medium amphibious assault ship were also victims of Russian strikes.
