Biden Admin Commits Another $400 Million in ‘Security Assistance’ to Ukraine – American Faith

In a bid to further support Ukraine’s defense needs, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) today announced a significant expansion of its security assistance for the country.

This boost, valued at up to $400 million, marks the Biden administration’s forty-third drawdown of equipment for Ukraine since August 2021, indicating its continued commitment to providing Ukraine with weapons and equipment on the battlefield.

The announcement comes amid ongoing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, demonstrating Biden’s clear stance in supporting Ukraine.

“The capabilities in this package include: additional munitions for Patriot air defense systems and National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS), Stinger anti-aircraft systems, additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds,” reads the official press release from the DoD.

The package also features 120mm and 60mm mortar rounds, 32 Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers, and Tube-Launched, Optically-Tracked, Wire-Guided (TOW) missiles.

Furthermore, the U.S. will supply Ukraine with Javelin and other anti-armor systems and rockets, Hornet Unmanned Aerial Systems, Hydra-70 aircraft rockets, and tactical air navigation systems.

For ground operations, the package also contains demolition munitions for obstacle clearing, over 28 million rounds of small arms ammunition and grenades, night vision devices, thermal imagery systems, spare parts, training munitions, and other field equipment.

The DoD states, “Today’s commitment in security assistance, valued at up to $400 million, includes additional air defense munitions, artillery and other ammunition, armored vehicles, anti-armor weapons, and other equipment to help Ukraine counter Russia’s ongoing war of aggression.”

As Biden has committed billions of taxpayer dollars to support Ukraine’s border, the U.S. Southern Border is entering a new phase of its ongoing crisis.

For example, the number of foreigners entering the United States on the terrorist screening list has increased ninefold since Biden took office.

So far, in fiscal year 2023 alone, 140 people with ties to terrorism have been stopped at border checkpoints, up from 98 in 2022 and 16 in 2021.

Comparatively, only three illegal immigrants from terrorism lists crossed the border in the last year of Donald Trump’s presidency.

Since Biden took office, there have been over 5 million attempted illegal crossings in total, representing an average of 6,300 individuals per day.
