Pop star Harry Styles donates millions of tour proceeds to Planned Parenthood, left-wing groups – LifeSite

(LifeSiteNews) – Pop singer Harry Styles recently completed his two-year, 173-venue “Love on Tour,” but what attendees may not have known is that proceeds would ultimately support a number of left-wing causes, including abortion.

The UK’s Evening Standard reported that the tour raised more than $6.5 million to be distributed to “charity,” but some of the money is being distributed to groups half the country would consider far from charitable.

Among the recipients are the pro-abortion groups Planned Parenthood and Physicians for Reproductive Health, as well as Everytown for Gun Safety, which advocates a range of new gun-control restrictions.

Live Action noted that Styles has a history of pro-abortion advocacy, saying in reaction to last year’s overturn of Roe v. Wade, “Someone needs an operation and someone can decide that they can’t have it? It makes no sense to me. It’s just so backwards … It’s quite scary to see how far backwards we’re going in a lot of ways. There should be backlash and uproar for these things.”

“No one can tell you what to do with your own body. It’s yours,” Styles declared last September. “It is your choice. Stick together and fight together.”

“You have incredible talent and very good music, but you also promote killing preborn people,” Live Action’s Sami Parker previously said. “And that’s a really big problem. And before you say, ‘Oh, those are humans, but they’re not really people deserving of equal rights for X, Y, Z reason, just know that that’s the exact same worldview that drove the worst human rights injustices of all time. It’s a really dangerous worldview to hold.”

Hollywood is notorious for its dominant far-left bias on issue after issue, including abortion. Some dissent from the entertainment industry’s anti-life orthodoxy, however, such as actress Alexa PenaVega and actors Kevin Sorbo and Dean Cain.

While Planned Parenthood has suffered setbacks with newly enforceable pro-life laws effectively banning abortion in 14 states so far, the organization is far from destitute.

In June, American Life League’s STOPP International 2023 Report on Planned Parenthood CEO Compensation found that all 53 chief executive officers of Planned Parenthood affiliates make more than $100,000 per year, with the average compensation rising from $237,999 in 2015 to $317,564 in 2020. Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Alexis McGill Johnson makes $683,697 and its top 10 affiliate heads all made more than $450,000, far higher than the average salary for U.S. nonprofit CEOs of $184,809.

In April, Planned Parenthood released its first post-Roe annual report, which revealed that despite the new status quo significantly reducing abortions overall, Planned Parenthood itself committed 374,155 abortions, its second-highest abortion numbers ever – a testament to its prioritization of the issue over all other services (which once again declined), and received $670.4 million in taxpayer funds last year from the pro-abortion Biden administration.
