Leaked Tucker interview shows former Capitol Police chief question Deep State’s role in Jan. 6 – LifeSite

(LifeSiteNews) — In previously unseen footage, the former chief of the United States Capitol Police suggests that the federal government itself was behind the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2020.

“I’m not a conspiracy theorist,” said former chief Steven Sund to Tucker Carlson in the until-now unaired interview, “but when you look at the information… it sounds like they were hiding the intelligence.”

Sund has authored a book titled Courage Under Fire, which details the events leading up to January 6 – and the events on the day itself.

In the book, he asks:

What did the intelligence community know about the plans of the insurrectionists before the attack?

Why was the request for the National Guard continually denied and delayed? Why was the nation’s capital so vulnerable?

Sund says in his book that he was “forced to take the fall and resign.” His attempt to reason why government and military agencies did not assist him has led him to question the official narrative.

Speaking to Carlson in the unaired interview for Fox News, he asked:

Could there possibly be actually… they kind of wanted something to happen?

It’s not a far stretch to begin to think that.

It’s sad when you start putting everything together and thinking about the way this played out… what was their end goal?

Donald Trump has suggested a 6-week abortion ban is ”too harsh”, attacking Gov. Ron DeSantis for his bill protecting innocent human life after 6 weeks.

Obviously pro-lifers wish to protect all human life from conception with outright abortion bans.

SIGN: Donald Trump MUST support pro-life legislation

The former president said he is ”looking at all alternatives” when asked if he would support such a 6-week ban, making this a crucial opportunity for pro-life voters to make their views known to him in no uncertain terms.

“He has to do what he has to do,” Trump said about Gov. DeSantis’ abortion bill. “If you look at what DeSantis did, a lot of people don’t even know if he knew what he was doing. But he signed six weeks, and many people within the pro-life movement feel that that was too harsh.”

Anyone truly in the pro-life movement thinking the ban is too harsh must mean it’s too harsh on those babies less than 6-weeks who can still be murdered.

Mr. Trump’s outlandish claim about anyone in the pro-life movement opposing the ban is doubtful to say the least, but there was more to follow in the interview.

When pressed on whether he thought the bill was ”too harsh”, Trump would not answer directly, instead saying: ”I’m looking at all alternatives. I’m looking at many alternatives. But I was able to get us to the table by terminating Roe v. Wade. That’s the most important thing that’s ever happened for the pro-life movement.”

The former president is correct in saying the overturning of Roe v. Wade was a monumental step for the pro-life movement, but it should only be the beginning of banning the killing of babies in the womb entirely.

Donald Trump’s belief that even a 6-week abortion ban is extreme spells trouble for every citizen concerned about ending abortion, which is why we need you to take part in this urgent petition to him.

SIGN & SHARE: We must change Donald Trump‘s mind on abortion

Our true loyalty is to innocent human beings facing death, none more so than those in the womb, and any candidate who prevaricates about something so important to building a civilized society has to be corrected.

We urge all Republican candidates to advocate for a total ban on abortion, without any exceptions – not just at 6-week’s gestation as an incremental measure.

SIGN & SHARE our petition urging Donald Trump to do the right thing.

The brief video released with the report is a two-minute extract from an hour long interview – recorded whilst Carlson was still at the popular network.

Sund alleges that military intelligence agencies were involved in gathering intelligence in the run-up to January 6. This chimes with mainstream media reports detailing numerous points of contact between intelligence agencies – and groups like the Proud Boys.

Business Insider headline from November 2022

A ‘far-right conspiracy theory’

The notion that U.S. intelligence agencies played a role in the so-called “insurrection” of January 6 has been routinely derided in the mainstream media.

CBS News report from April 23, 2023

The so-called conspiracy theory is also credited in large part to Tucker Carlson, who according to Media Matters, has committed himself to “conspiracy mongering” – saying in one video, “The riot was a ‘setup’ by government organizations put in place in order to justify a large-scale persecution of conservatives.”

Carlson is the subject of a defamation lawsuit by former U.S. Marine and “Oath Keepers” member Ray Epps.

As the Washington Post reported on July 12:

Carlson began regularly questioning whether Epps was an informant or undercover figure on his broadcasts, describing him as someone who ‘helped stage-manage the insurrection’ in one January 2022 broadcast.

In a January 2023 broadcast, Carlson reminded his audience that Epps had not yet been charged. ‘Why is that? Well, let’s just stop lying,’ Carlson told his viewers. ‘At this point, it’s pretty obvious why that is.’

Ray Epps is on video repeatedly urging marchers to head to the Capitol on January 6th.

Despite his obvious role in instigating the “insurrection,” Ray Epps’ name was removed from an initial FBI call for information on suspects, and he has never been charged with an offense.

According to a Politico report on May 30, 2023, over 1,000 people have been charged for the “riot,” with 485 being sentenced – and 277 jailed. Stewart Rhodes, the first of nine Oath Keepers to face charges, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

In the brief video featured in the National Pulse report, Carlson states, “You have to be an idiot not to assume he is working with somebody. I mean, come on!”

Carlson notes that the January 6 hearings disclaimed any connection between Epps and “law enforcement.” Yet the committee said nothing about this ex-marine’s potential connection to military intelligence – which Sund believes “must” have been involved in January 6.

Sund, mentioning his treatment of the strange case of Ray Epps in his book, noted that the “January 6th committee thanked him for his candor.”

Joe Rogan joins the ‘conspiracy’

Popular podcaster Joe Rogan said in a July 28 broadcast that “The Jan. 6 thing is bad, but also, the intelligence agencies were involved in provoking people into the Capitol Building. That’s a fact” before going on to ask whether Ray Epps “was a fed.”

I don’t know, but… I think that every other person who who was involved in coordinating a break-in into the Capitol and then instigating people, they were all arrested…

This guy wasn’t. Not only that, but they were defending him in The New York Times, The Washington Post… saying Fox News has unjustly accused him of instigating when he clearly instigated, he did it on camera.

I don’t know if he was a fed. I know a lot of people think he was a fed.

Rogan supplies one reason why U.S. intelligence agencies – military and not – would seek to smear President Donald Trump and his supporters with a staged act of sedition. It is because they are the very Deep State to which Trump is vocally opposed.

When the facts change

The facts of January 6 have been subject to change even in the mainstream media. Leftwing Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claimed on October 25, 2021 that January 6 resulted in “almost 10 dead.”

Sensational claims about “terrorism” are inflamed by statements such as these. So how many people did die on the day – and who were they?

In response, journalist Glenn Greenwald said:

He went on to say:

The lesson of 9/11 is or should have been that allowing politicians to deceitfully exaggerate domestic threats or exploit the propagandistic term ‘terrorism’ to justify civil liberties assaults is dangerous in the extreme.

According to FactCheck – one person was killed on the day. Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by police lieutenant Michael Bird, who was exonerated of all charges for shooting blindly through a door.

Bird’s identity was withheld from the public for months, with “safety” reasons cited.

When he finally went public, Bird framed the killing as an heroic act of service.

In a shameless traduction of Babbitt’s death, he said, “I know that day I saved countless lives.”

He was speaking of an action which Trump described as a “murder.”

Two more pro-Trump protesters died of heart conditions, whilst a third was found to have died of a drug overdose the following day.

The New York Times ran with the shocking story of police officer Brian Sicknick, who was said to have died as a result of being struck by a fire extinguisher by a rioter.

It later emerged that Sicknick had died of a stroke, which had no relation to any blunt force trauma. Several officers took their own lives following the events of January 6 – whose inclusion has been cited as justification for Cortez’ imaginativeand misleading – tally.

With the publication of this footage, sent to the National Pulse by an unnamed whistleblower, an important counter to the official version of events is once again in the spotlight.

More releases are promised, which may help us to answer a question which has plagued the former Capitol chief of police for more than two years –  what was their end goal?
