(LifeSiteNews) — Surging GOP presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy earned the praise of X CEO Elon Musk for promoting his “TRUTH” agenda in Iowa this week. 

“He states his beliefs clearly,” Musk said on X of Ramaswamy.

Ramaswamy was at the Iowa State Fair Thursday as part of the Des Moines Register’s Political Soapbox event.  

During his allotted time, the 38-year-old multimillionaire raddled off a list of items that comprise his political platform.

“God is real. There are two genders. Fossil fuels are a requirement for human prosperity,” Ramaswamy stated

He then said: “Reverse racism is racism. An open border is not a border. Parents determine the education of their children. The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind. Capitalism lifts people up from poverty. There are three branches of [the U.S.] government, not four. And the U.S. Constitution it is the strongest guarantor of freedom in human history. That is the truth. We stand up for the truth. We fight for the truth.” 

Despite the attention Ramaswamy’s remarks are getting, his “10 Truths” did not originate on Thursday. They were previously listed on his campaign website, and he has spoken about several of them in recent months elsewhere.  

Ramaswamy, who was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, is Hindu. Hinduism posits that there is not a single God but multiple gods. Ramaswamy previously explained that the U.S. is a “nation founded on Judeo-Christian values” and that he “share[s] those same values.”  

He’s also said that “the real divide” in America is “not between those who are members of different traditional religions” but “those who pledge allegiance to a new religion of secularism, woke-ism, transgender-ism, climate-ism, COVID-ism.

According to a survey released by Republican-leaning pollster Cygnal last Thursday, Ramaswamy is now polling at 11 percent, ahead of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ 10 percent share of GOP voters’ choice for president. Donald Trump, meanwhile, still has a whopping lead at 53 percent support. 

Trump announced yesterday he will not appear at the first GOP debate this coming Wednesday and will do an interview with Tucker Carlson instead. Ramaswamy and DeSantis are scheduled to appear, however.

Ramaswamy has drawn praise from Musk on several other occasions as well

In an X post on Thursday, Musk called him a “promising candidate” after promoting an interview he did with the aforementioned Carlson.  

Musk also praised Ramaswamy as “a strong candidate” after he explained how he would strive to weaken the Russia-China military alliance and seek peace in Ukraine.

At the same time, Ramaswamy came under criticism from LifeSiteNews reporter Doug Mainwaring in an op-ed last week for repeating the liberal claim that homosexuality is “hardwired” at birth

On Thursday, Mainwaring noted that only 48 hours after his article was published, Ramaswamy distanced himself from that view

“In an X (formerly Twitter) post about an impromptu encounter with a self-identifying ‘pansexual” activist at the Iowa State Fair caught on video, Ramaswamy stated there is ‘no gay gene’ while citing the conflicting beliefs maintained by the LGBTQ+ political left in order to justify ongoing erosion of immutable truth as a matter of law, regulation, and culture,” Mainwaring wrote.

Ramaswamy is the former CEO of Roivant Sciences, a biotech company that buys drugs abandoned by Big Pharma and seeks to revitalize them to make a profit. Roivant notably developed a treatment for cytokine storms brought on by the COVID-19 virus. Ramaswamy previously served on the coronavirus task force for the state of Ohio, though he has generally avoided speaking about that on the campaign trail.
