Spain has created Europe’s first artificial intelligence (AI) policy task force, taking the first step in determining laws surrounding the controversial technology.
The Council of Ministers, approved a Royal Decree to create the “Spanish Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA), a task force committed to determining the global impact of AI technology.
The AESIA, part of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, will seek to create a framework under which Spain can develop its AI technology.
AI has remained a controversial topic for many governments as they aim to find a balanced approach to the technology.
