Americans shying away from latest COVID booster: Only 2% have received the shot – LifeSite

(LifeSiteNews) — Although the latest COVID booster shot debuted over a month ago amid media, CDC, and Biden administration fanfare, an increasingly vaccine-skeptical American public continues to stay away in droves from the new jab.

As of a few days ago, only about 7 million Americans — roughly two percent (2%)— have elected to take the new “updated” shots produced by Moderna (MRNA.O), Pfizer (PFE.N), and BioNTech (22UAy.DE) which purport to target the XBB.1.5 Omicron subvariant of the coronavirus.

By comparison, 18 million people — or more than 2.5 times as many — had received last year’s booster by this time in 2022. In the end, 17% of the U.S. population, or 56.5 million people, ultimately received last year’s versions of the vaccine. The current statistical trajectory suggests that ultimately the number of Americans receiving this year’s booster will fall far short of that.

The sharp decline in demand comes despite the fact that 91% of Americans ages 12 and up can now access the vaccines within five miles of home, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Rejecting the COVID-industrial complex

The U.S. public isn’t buying what the COVID-industrial complex — Big Pharma working in collaboration with Big Tech, the Biden administration, and the media — is selling.

The “2% uptake is abysmal,” wrote OutKick’s Ian Miller. “While these new doses haven’t been around quite as long, 7 million shows that there’s little interest in further doses, no matter how hard the COVID industrial complex tries.”

Miller continued:

No one is listening to them anymore, because many in the public have finally realized that most of the individuals involved in these promotional campaigns have any idea what they’re talking about. They were told masks worked, that schools needed to be closed, that getting vaccinated would stop the spread and prevent infections, the lab leak was a racist conspiracy theory and that lockdowns were necessary.

All of that’s been proven wrong. And this is the inevitable result.

As a result, government agencies and the media continue to work on behalf of Big Pharma to create demand using the same tactic that worked so well in the past: fearmongering.

And there’s plenty of reason to keep the fear of COVID alive:  The COVID vaccines and boosters have proven to be a huge new revenue stream for the industry.

This year’s COVID jab may be the first of what will likely become an “annual COVID-19 shot” that gets revamped every year, Dr. Mark Mulligan, director of NYU Langone Vaccine Center, told TODAY.com.

The CDC and HHS are working together to induce parents into electing to have their infants and older children receive Big Pharma’s latest jab. Over 700,000 doses have been ordered through the CDC’s “Vaccines for Children” program.

“We have about 10,000 babies a day in this country that become newly eligible for COVID-19 vaccines when they turn 6 months old, and we’re only vaccinating about 7,000 kids a week under the age of 4,” lamented Dr. Michelle Fiscus, chief medical officer at the Association of Immunization Managers, according to U.S. News & World Report.

“So we have this growing population of young, unprotected children, and that not only impacts the lives of those children, but it really dilutes the herd immunity that we have in the community by increasing this population every single day of children who are unprotected,” Fiscus warned.

“Experts” are also trying to gin up demand among senior citizens.

“As we head into this respiratory virus season even deeper, we’re most worried about the older people getting protected,” Lori Tremmel Freeman, chief executive officer of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, told CNN. “For anyone with underlying health issues, all three vaccines can prevent severe illness, hospitalization or death.”

The COVID-industrial complex’s history of fearmongering

In December 2021, President Jpe Biden famously used his bully pulpit to declare, “For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families, and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm.”

The winter of death for the unvaccinated never materialized.

Last year, the president echoed the same lie: “The unvaccinated have a significantly higher risk of ending up in a hospital, or even dying,” and advised people to resume wearing masks, asserting, “Wearing a mask provides protection for you and those around you.”

During a U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing in the fall of 2022, Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin grilled Big Tech executives on censoring COVID information while promoting lies:

So obviously, this was published and they were publishing other similar information during that time period when President Biden lied to the American public that this was a pandemic of the unvaxxed. And if you got vaccinated, you’re not going to go to the hospital, you’re not going to be in an ICU unit and you’re not going to die.

Well, 63.5% of the people fully vaccinated were dying in England at the exact same time. Why didn’t you pull this? Have you ever labeled the President of the United States comment as ‘misinformation?’ Have you ever done that? Any of you?

Sen. Johnson’s question was met with complete silence from the Twitter, Meta, YouTube and TikTok sitting across from him.

“I’ll take that as a no,” Johnson quipped.

He added:

“I just wonder, who are the authorities? Who do you think you are to censor information from eminently qualified doctors who had the courage and compassion to treat COVID patients when the NIH guideline was basically, if you test positive for COVID, go home. Be afraid. Isolate yourself. Don’t do anything until you’re so sick, we’ll send you to the hospital. We’ll give you Remdesivir, where we have 1,600 deaths so far. We’ll put you on a ventilator and we’ll watch you die.

You guys bear a fair amount of responsibility for hundreds of thousands of people not being treated, and I would say probably dying that didn’t have to die. I hope you’re proud of yourselves.”
