Regardless of one’s thoughts on immigration, the current constant influx of illegal aliens at the U.S.- Mexico border has reached levels of catastrophic proportion. Since Joe Biden became President in 2021, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have estimated 10 million illegal immigrants have entered the country. For reference, that is one third of the Texas population.
According to CBP, the known “got-aways,” or those who were detected by thermal imagery, sighted by officers or caught on video but not apprehended, are a staggering 1.7 million. However, questions abound of those how evaded detection – who are they, where are they from, what connections do they have to dangerous foreign interests? Those on the FBI’s terror watch list have exponentially increased, according to West Virginia Senator Shelley Capito. She and others indicated the terror threat is real and demanded President Biden tackle the issue.
Recently, he requested funding for Ukraine, Israel and the southern border in a $105 billion budget proposal.
Oklahoma Congressman Kevin Hern explained the border portion of the proposal as “for the wrong reasons.” Speaking with Newsmax’s Wake up America, Hern highlighted the $13.6 billion allocated for the border isn’t closing or securing the border, but rather housing and transporting illegals inside the U.S. Hern slammed the administration’s poor policies on incentivizing the illegals. He insisted policy changes would stop enticing illegal immigration as a caravan of 7,000 plus makes its way across northern Mexico to the U.S.
During his Presidential candidacy, Biden promised “not another foot” of border wall would be built under his administration, yet new sections in Texas, California and Arizona are under construction and $950 million has been allocated for repairs and upgrades to the wall, according to the New York Post. The money will install roads and detection technology to facilitate stemming the flow of immigrants.
Jazz Shaw at HotAir reported the sudden about-face by the Biden administration wasn’t due to realizing “the right thing” and securing the border, but rather scrambling to evade plummeting poll numbers and stem open revolt among Democrats. Blue cities residents, like New York and Chicago, are up-in-arms over the influx of immigrants flooding their neighborhoods.
Shaw also highlighted human traffickers will locate unsecured portions of the border and shuttle their modern slaves across.
The State Department estimated in a June report 27 million individuals are victims of human trafficking. It is utter foolishness to think part of the number isn’t U.S. based. The open southern border is a standing invitation for more victims being sucked into the human trafficking trade that lines the pockets of the providers with over $150 billion a year. According to Youth Underground, the U.S. accounts for 52% of human trafficking at $9.5 billion annually and the largest percentage comes from sex trafficked youths.
