God Has Granted Us Authority – Intercessors for America

God has released me to share a vision from the West Virginia IFA prayer call of Dec. 11, 2023.

As I look back over my notes for the prayer points for that Monday evening’s prayer call, such items as the committee meetings in session, the upcoming elections, and the other prayer groups around the state were in my notes. One note read: “As residents of our community, our county, our state, and our nation, we use our authority to cast out the evil that grows and is attempting to set up its authority. Evildoers have no authority but what is given when we don’t claim what is rightfully ours.”

I began the call as I usually do: I listed the prayer points and had little discussion on those topics, as we are always excited to enter our time of prayer together.

It was early into the call that I felt the Lord instructed me to read Psalm 91 over those on the call. As the call was nearing the top of the hour, I expressed what God had shared with me and began to read: He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler (Psalm 91:1–4).

It was at this time that I entered a vision. I was tucked up inside the chest feathers of a mighty eagle. I felt the warmth of this most secure place as the eagle took flight high above the earth. As I continued to read the psalm that is so often declared for protection, I said: A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. From my sheltered position, I could see the wings of this mighty eagle stretching — further and further the tips of His wings would stretch and then begin to curl under as if offering additional protection for those who have sought His shelter.

As I continued reading the Scriptures, I also declared that God was protecting not just those on the call, but also their entire families. He was offering protection and shelter under His mighty wings.

I know without a doubt that while I was reading and experiencing this vision, those I prayed over were receiving special protection from God Almighty. I knew that when I exercised the authority that was given to me, it was done!

As residents of our communities, counties, states, and nation, we have authority. We declare authority over these areas in which we take up residence.

Lord God, I pray that You would further teach us the value of our words, the value of reading Your Word over our state and nation. I thank You, my precious King, for this vision. I can still see the tips of Your wings stretching, further and further to encompass more territory belonging to You, O Lord of heaven and earth. We glorify Your name.

Continuing from the psalm:

Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
and show him My salvation.”

(Psalm 91:10–16)
