Trump’s Holy Week Campaign to ‘Make America Pray Again’ by Promoting the ‘God Bless the USA Bible’

Former President Donald Trump took to social media this week to promote a new leather-bound “God Bless the USA” Bible and warned his supporters that Christians in the United States are “under siege.”

In a video posted to Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social, the former President presented a King James Bible he’s promoting alongside musician Lee Greenwood, whose song “God Bless the USA” is often played at Trump’s rallies.

The leather-bound Bible costs $59.99 and includes the founding American documents, such as copies of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance.

“You have to have it for your heart and your soul,” Trump said. “Many of you have never read them and don’t know the liberties and rights you have as Americans and how you are being threatened to lose those rights. It’s happening all the time. It’s a very sad thing that’s going on in our country, but we’re gonna get it turned around.”

Per The Christian Post, he also noted that “religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country,” adding that is the reason why the country is under chaos.

“I think it’s one of the biggest problems we have,” he said. “That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country.”

Trump contended that all Americans should own a Bible and shared that he owns “many” of them because it’s his “favorite book.”

“This Bible is a reminder that the biggest thing we have to bring back America and make America great again is our religion,” he said. Religion is so important; it’s so missing, but it’s going to come back, and it’s going to come back strong, just like our country is going to come back strong.”

“In the end, we do not answer to bureaucrats in Washington, we answer to God in Heaven,” he continued. “Christians are under siege. We must protect content that is pro-God. We love God, and we have to protect anything that is pro-God. We must defend God in the public square and not allow the media or the left-wing groups to silence, censor, or discriminate against us.”

In closing, Trump claimed the Founding Fathers “did a tremendous thing when they built America on Judeo-Christian values” but that their foundation is “under attack, perhaps as never before.”

He also encouraged listeners to buy the Bible to “help spread our Christian values with others.”

Earlier this week, Trump seemed to compare himself to Jesus Christ’s unfair trial following his civil fraud case in New York, where he was ordered to pay $454 million. On Monday, a New York appeals court ruled that the state will delay possibly seizing Trump’s assets if he can put up $175 million within ten days.

He shared a message from a supporter who noted how the legal battle he is facing takes place during Holy Week. Trump also quoted from Psalm 109:3-8, which calls for God’s judgment against false accusers.

In Acts 1:20, the apostle Peter cited the same passage from Psalms when applying to Judas Iscariot.
