The only survivor of the crash was an eight-year-old child who was seriously injured and was receiving medical attention.

The bus rammed into a bridge on a mountain pass, leading it to plummet down the mountain, bursting into flames. As the Associated Press reported, “Many of the victims trapped inside the bus were burned beyond recognition.”

South Africa Minister of Transport, Sindiswe Chikunga, finds it plausible that the driver lost control. She also said, “I am sending my heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragic bus crash near Mamatlakala. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.”

The worshippers were heading to the town of Moria, which garners millions of visitors each year for the Easter festivities.

This is the time to pray for the families and friends of all those who have been affected by this tremendous, tragic loss. For the young child who has undergone such a devastating experience, Christians need to also pray for their health and restoration as life will never quite be the same for them again.
