Al’s Afternoon Tea: Aliens, Invasions, Raging Furries and a ‘Far-Right’ Harriet Tubman – The Stream

Welcome back for Al’s Afternoon Tea, our chance to sip and savor the latest news.

Senate Dems Kill Impeachment of Mayorkas … Unconstitutional?

Once again, today’s Democrats have taken a blowtorch to tradition and the U.S. Constitution. The same people who held an impeachment trial for Donald Trump over a phone call tossed out the two articles of impeachment against illegal invasion coordinator Alejandro Mayorkas Wednesday. In other words, there will be no trial. For the first time in our nation’s history, the U.S. Senate has deep-sixed duly voted on articles of impeachment sent over from the House.

They argued that Mayorkas’ alleged crimes — deliberately ignoring federal law to facilitate the illegal entry of more than ten million “migrants” and “refugees” at taxpayer expense — did not meet the standard of a “high crime.” Actively engaging in human smuggling? No problem. Allowing sex traffickers free reign? You do you, Alejandro!

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz was livid.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee was aghast.

How sick is the Senate’s inaction? Fox News’ Bill Melugin made this observation: “Senator Cortez Mastro calls the Mayorkas impeachment a ‘waste of time’ days after an illegal alien who was caught & released at the TX border in 2021 was arrested & charged in connection with the death of one of her own staffers.”

Student Suspended for Saying “Illegal Alien” in Class

Oh, no. Melugin used the phrase “illegal alien”! Good thing he’s a reporter and not a student at Central Davidson High in North Carolina. Did you hear about this? Sixteen-year-old Christian McGhee was suspended from school for three days for using the phrase “illegal alien” – an actual legal term – in his English class.

According to his mom, Leah, Christian wasn’t even using the term derogatorily. His teacher had given the class an assignment to write something using the word “aliens.” To clarify, Christian simply asked, “Like space aliens or illegal aliens without green cards?” That seems like a smart and innocent enough question. However, another student took offense and threatened to fight Christian, and rather than telling that kid to stand down, the teacher took the matter to the assistant principal. School officials ultimately decided Christian’s use of the phrase was offensive to Hispanics and suspended him.

Christian, whose family lived for a time in Great Britain, told the Carolina Journal the school’s position is bogus. “I wasn’t speaking of Hispanics because everyone from other countries needs green cards, and the term ‘illegal alien’ is an actual term that I hear on the news and can find in the dictionary.”

His mother is concerned about the long-term impact of the punishment, according to the Carolina Journal,

“He is devastated and concerned that the racism label on his school record will harm his future goal of receiving a track scholarship,” she said. “We are concerned that he will fall behind in his classes due to being absent for three consecutive days.”

Christian’s family has hired a lawyer.

Meanwhile, let’s work on the theory that space aliens have placed a virus in the minds of American educators.

Here’s another case study.

Little Victories: Students Stage Walkout to Protest “Furries” Running Rampant in School

As part of the same breakdown of reality that claims there are more genders than there are cable channels, we have what are called “furries.” These are people who “identify” as animals and run around wearing animal costumes. (Perhaps because they didn’t have the singing and dancing chops to get cast in Cats.)

Apparently, at the Mt. Nebo Middle School in Utah, “furries” are harassing and abusing their classmates, and school officials won’t do anything about it. (Has anyone thought to call Animal Control?)

In fact, just like Christian McGhee in the story above, students say they’re the ones who get in trouble if they complain. However, to their credit, fed-up students have had enough. On Wednesday, students walked out and took part in an hours-long protest.

However, Nebo School District is pushing back. Spokesman Seth Sorenson insisted to the Salt Lake Tribune that nobody is wearing full-body animal costumes to class, nor do they necessarily identify as furries. He says the students in question sometime come to school wearing headbands “that may have ears on them.”

“These are pretty young kids,” Sorenson said. “You’ll have students that show up with headbands and giant bows; you’ll have students that show up dressed as their favorite basketball player, or baseball player. That’s just what kids this age do.”

Here’s your tell that the Tribune’s “fact-check” is a biased butt-covering:

It’s coverage includes zero quotes from the kids who protested.

It contains no sense that harassment of some kind is occurring that is not being addressed.

It describes Libs of TikTok as” an account on X that shares anti-LGBTQ posts and other clips geared at generating right-wing outrage.” (Actually, ,the person behind that account usually just posts what LGBTQ people themselves are saying.)

The reporter also says the story was spread by “conservative radio host Adam Bartholemew.” (When does the liberal media ever described anyone as a “progressive” radio or TV host?) And that Bartholemew is “married to Cari Bartholomew, who is running as a far-right candidate for the Utah State Board of Education.” (“Far right.” This is defined as anyone who resists using personal pronouns and doesn’t want to give “furries” a gift certificate to Petco.)

Seriously, check out what “far right” looks like on the Bartholemew campaign’s Facebook page. The woman goes around enacting the amazing story of Harriet Tubman!

Yeah. Harriet Tubman is now a right-wing radical.

School board elections matter. You can stop woke administrators — and apparently furries — from running wild. But only if you want to.

And speaking of elections: How about a documentary about how the last big one was manipulated and the man working hard to expose it?

Let My People Go

We don’t serve Al’s Afternoon Tea on Fridays. Instead, at 4 p.m. tomorrow, John Zmirak will offer “The Greatest Film You’ll Never See: Let My People Go Tries to Heal Our National Trauma.” It’s a documentary focusing on David Clements, his fight to expose the fraud in the 2020 election. and his endless efforts to raise support for the J6 prisoners. While the efforts to destroy this film were astounding, you can now see it for free on Rumble. John’s article is an essay of such excellence it makes me feel like a monkey banging on a keyboard by comparison.

Don’t miss it … or the movie.

But I’ll miss you until we meet again Monday morning for The Brew.
