Foreign Funding Bill Advances – American Faith

A bill that allocates almost $100 billion to Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-Pacific advanced.

The rule to move forward with a vote on three separate foreign funding bills passed 316 to 94.

Lawmakers will also vote on a fourth bill that allows the United States to “sell the frozen assets of Russian oligarchs, possibly force the sale of TikTok to an American company, and impose harsher sanctions on Iran, China, and Russia, among other Republican-endorsed foreign policies,” according to The Post Millennial.

$23.2 billion of the $95 billion will be used for “replenishment of U.S. weapons, stocks, and facilities,” according to a memo released by the House Appropriations Republicans.

$27.38 billion will be provided to Israel in its “effort to defend itself against Iran and its proxies, and to reimburse U.S. military operations in response to recent attacks.”

Another $8.12 billion will be given to the Indo-Pacific to “continue efforts to counter communist China and ensure a strong deterrence in the region.

Breitbart reported that the move is unprecedented, saying that the House Rules Committee “relied on minority party votes to overcome objections from the majority and advance a rule bill to the House floor.”

The outlet added that the “minority party has effectively taken control over the bills that will come before the House.”

According to House Resolution 1160, the “bill shall be considered as read,” meaning that lawmakers will vote on the legislation as presented.

Following the advancement, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) joined Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in supporting Greene’s motion to vacate House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

Gosar said in a statement supporting the motion to vacate the speaker, “Nearly 11 million illegal aliens have crossed our southern border in the past three years. My congressional district in Arizona, ground zero for the invasion, is getting pummeled by the surge of lawbreakers. These illegal aliens have brought violent crime, deadly drugs, human trafficking and are depleting resources and services meant for U.S. citizens. In fact, every state has become a border state. Communities across the country are being ravaged, families are being destroyed and Americans in need are being ignored.”

“Congress cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the consequence of Biden’s disastrous open border policies, nor can it idly wait for Biden to halt this invasion through executive fiat. Congress has the responsibility to solve this crisis,” he continued. “Yet rather than spending the resources to secure our southern border and combating the invasion of 11 million illegals and despite repeated promises there would be no additional money going to Ukraine without first securing our border, the United States House of Representatives, under the direction of the Speaker, is on the verge of sending another $61 billion to further draw America into an endless and purposeless war in Ukraine.”

“I have added my name in support of the motion to vacate the Speaker. Our border cannot be an afterthought. We need a Speaker who puts America first rather than bending to the reckless demands of the warmongers, neo-cons and the military industrial complex making billions from a costly and endless war half a world away.”
