A report from watchdog organization NGO Monitor found that the terror group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has a “strong presence at encampments, demonstrations, and riots on American college campuses.”
PFLP is considered a terrorist group in the United States, Canada, the European Union, and Israel.
Students have been seen carrying PFLP materials, such as flags, posters, and publications.
A subsidiary of PFLP, Samidoun, has also been behind antisemitism on college campuses.
The organization’s logo “can be seen on posters promoting the PFLP, and its officials have preached ‘resistance’ (code for terrorism) at campus events,” the report said.
A recent protest at Rutgers University saw a student calling for Israel’s fall with an image of Ahmad Sa’adat behind them.
“Sa’adat is a Palestinian militant and Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a known terrorist group,” wrote a citizen journalist on X.
A similar display was seen at the University of Pennsylvania.
One student told CBS News, “Yesterday there was a PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) flag flying on College Green, which is a (U.S. Department of State) USDS designated terrorist organization.”
“There are professional agitators on Penn’s campus right now joined in hand with some handful of Penn students who have created an unsafe environment for Jewish students,” the student added.
Student protesters at Princeton also held banners featuring Sa’adat and called for his “freedom.”
“Sa’adat is currently serving 30 years in prison after being sentenced by an Israeli military court,” the Princeton Tory shared on social media. “He is accused by Israel of masterminding the 2001 assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Ze’evi.”
Demonstrators at George Washington University read excerpts from a book by PFLP, called “Strategy for the Liberation of Palestine,” and discussed its meaning.
Numerous other incidents of PFLP materials present among student protests have been documented.
Last month, PFLP shared a statement of support for American pro-Palestine students, writing, “We in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, along with all our people, the honorable of our nation and the world, confirm our steadfast support for the struggle of the students youth movements, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) and the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) at universities such as Columbia, Rutgers, Yale, Stanford, among others. We call for enhancing the unity of students and their struggle to divest American universities from the zionist entity and cut all forms of relations with it.”
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) recently called for a federal investigation into the student protests.
“I think the Department of Justice needs to investigate where the money is coming from,” Graham told Fox News’ Jesse Watters. “There’s two classes of people here. Anti-Semites: If you say, ‘We are Hamas,’ and you mean it, then you are a religious Nazi,” the senator continued. “If you say, ‘We are Hamas,’ and you don’t know what Hamas is all about, you are a [expletive].”
Graham also expressed his belief that if Donald Trump were president, university administrations would face pressure to address these protests. “Here’s what I can promise you, if Donald Trump were president of the United States, his attorney general would be all over this, these college presidents would be under the gun to stop this crap.”
