Fresh Inspiration to Pray for America – Intercessors for America

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Do you need fresh inspiration to pray for America? If so, I want to encourage you today to pray for America so that Jesus may receive the reward of His suffering.

First, it will strengthen your resolve to pray if you remember the suffering of our Savior.

Bring to mind such aspects of His passion as these:

  • Jesus did not die a peaceful death. He died a torturous death on the most brutal execution device that had ever been invented.
  • Not only that, but He was tortured beforehand — whipped to within an inch of His life, so that the flesh was ripped off His bones, and all His bones could be counted (see Psalm 22:17).
  • He was also publicly embarrassed (crucified naked) and mocked, and He suffered many sorrows.
  • All His friends forsook Him and fled (see Mark 14:50).
  • And although He didn’t deserve it, He died a sinner’s death and took the sins of the entire world upon Himself.

Jesus suffered and was condemned so that we could be saved. And He currently is in Heaven, awaiting the completion of all things.

But He won’t have to wait forever.

One day, there will be a reward ceremony for Jesus. And on that day, He will receive His inheritance for all of His suffering on the earth. Isaiah says it best:

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.

Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors (Isaiah 53:10–12).

There will come a day when God the Father will give Jesus His portion and inheritance.

On that day, Jesus Himself will divide for Himself the spoil of the earth. He suffered for mankind, and He will receive the reward and inheritance of His suffering.

Jesus’ inheritance is His bride, the Body of Christ. And it’s our job on the earth not only to be His pure and spotless bride, but also to add as many people to His collective bride as possible. God wants all people to be saved if they will! Remember:

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

So, do you want a highly inspiring reason to pray for America in these discouraging times?

Then pray for America in order to bring Jesus the reward of His suffering:

  • Plead earnestly with God to send revival so that more people can be saved and added to the Body of Christ.
  • Pray that His government over the earth (and over America) would increase, so that the reward of His suffering would also increase.
  • And pray that He would receive every reward He deserves, for He agonized over us, and His inheritance must be everything it can possibly be.

One day, as Isaiah says: He shall see [the fruit] of the travail of His soul and be satisfied …” (Isaiah 53:11 AMPC). We want Him to be satisfied that His sacrifice was worth it! Therefore, friend, if you need fresh inspiration to pray for America:

  • Pray that Jesus would receive the reward of His suffering.
  • Pray that He would see what He purchased with His sorrows, and that it would all come under His dominion.
  • Pray with a heart and passion for Jesus not to lose out on even one reward or piece of territory that He purchased with His precious blood.

That kind of praying will fire you up, and it will make an eternal difference in our land.
