The Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters was on lockdown Wednesday morning after a package containing vials of blood was discovered.
Hazmat teams appeared on-site to investigate the matter.

The U.S. Capitol Police responded to the incident in a statement on X.
“This morning, we responded to the 300 block of First Street, SE, for the report of a suspicious package,” they said. “The package was cleared by our Hazardous Incident Response Division. It contained two vials of blood. The source of the package & its contents will be further investigated.”
ABC reporter John Parkinson noted that another officer told him that “nobody is messing around” after pipe bombs were found on Capitol Hill in 2021.
