Trump Slams Biden Administration, Says U.S. Becoming ‘Fascist State’ – American Faith

Former President Donald Trump delivered a speech at Trump Tower on Friday, the morning after becoming the first U.S. president to be criminally convicted in a court of law.

Speaking to the press and assembled supporters, Trump addressed his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records, which was handed down on Thursday. He claimed that witnesses in his case were “literally crucified” and accused the judge of being “highly conflicted” and a “tyrant.”

Trump also labeled the U.S. as becoming a “fascist state,” blaming the Biden administration for his conviction. He insisted that he is “a very innocent man” following the jury’s unanimous verdict. The former president was convicted of falsifying business records to cover up a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Daniels alleged that the payment was to buy her silence over a sexual encounter she claims they had a decade earlier.

Sentencing has been scheduled for July 11. The conviction has prompted reactions from various political figures. House Speaker Mike Johnson has called for the Supreme Court to intervene following the conviction, while President Biden has labeled Trump’s attacks on the judiciary as “reckless.”

Trump’s conviction bars him from entering several countries, including Canada and the UK, without special accommodations. As a convicted felon, Trump now faces restrictions on traveling to nearly 40 countries that have strict policies against allowing individuals with criminal records to cross their borders. It remains unclear whether he would be granted special accommodations if he wins the presidential election in November.
