Congressional Democrats to Discuss Biden Campaign – American Faith

Congressional Democrats are expected to have a virtual meeting to discuss the future of the Biden campaign.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is reportedly hosting the meeting, sources told NBC News. The meeting will involve ranking members of Democratic committees.

According to the anonymous sources, the meeting is not part of regularly scheduled conferences.

The move comes as five House Democrats have openly urged Biden to rethink his 2024 presidential campaign.

Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN), the latest Democrat to release a statement calling for Biden to end his campaign, wrote, in part, “I do not believe that the President can effectively campaign and win against Donald Trump.”

“If we truly believe that Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans must be stopped, there is only a small window left to make sure we have a candidate best equipped to make the case and win,” she added. “The future of our country is bigger than any one of us. It’s up to the President from here.”

Other Democrats calling for Biden to step aside from his reelection campaign are Reps. Mike Quigley (IL), Lloyd Doggett (TX), Raúl Grijalva (AZ), and Seth Moulton (MA).

According to Reuters, as many as 25 House Democrats are questioning the future of Biden’s campaign.
