Moscow is accused of committing a war crime after firing a large missile strike on a children’s hospital during a military invasion of Ukraine.

Following the hospital bombing that injured sixteen people—seven of them were children—the “entire international community” must to protest “war crimes,” said Antonio Tajani, the Italian Foreign Minister.

At least 36 people were killed and almost 130 injured as a result of a Russian bombardment that hit five locations in Ukraine and destroyed the hospital.

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, declared that his country will exact revenge on the strikes, branding them as “genocide” according to his chief of staff, Andriy Yermak.

“They defeated the densely populated cities. They attacked the pediatric hospital. There are kids present. The world needs to witness this terror and react to it. It’s genocide,” he declared.

Russia denied targeting any civilian infrastructure and asserted—without providing proof—that the damage was caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile based on images obtained from Kyiv.

Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak said that President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine called the strikes “genocide” and pledged that his nation would avenge them.

“They overcame the heavily inhabited cities. They launched an assault on the children’s hospital. There are children here. The entire world must see this terror and respond to it. He said, ‘It’s genocide.

Russia denied attacking any civilian property and claimed, based on photos taken from Kyiv, that a Ukrainian air defense missile was to blame for the damage, without offering any evidence to support this claim.
