Woman Steals $300,000 From Church to Give to TikTokers

A former church employee has pleaded guilty to stealing $300,000 from the church. The majority of the money stolen was gifted to TikTokers.

Kristen Marie Battocletti, 35, was a former administrative assistant at St. Francis of Assisi University Parish in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, according to Alabama.com.

Battocletti is said to have defrauded the church from April through October of 2023, in which time she purchased over $220,000 worth of TikTok coins and personal expenses. Battocletti made over 600 unauthorized transactions.

Battocletti pleaded guilty of wire fraud on Tuesday after the FBI investigated her case.

Birmingham, Alabama outlet WBRC reported that Battocletti and her attorney both declined the opportunity to comment.

“Hi, I don’t want to talk,” Battocletti said to WBRC.

The sentencing for Battocletti is set to begin on Nov. 26 or earlier. Right now, she face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
