Vice President Kamala Harris was ranked by GovTrack as the most liberal U.S. Senator in 2019. They no longer rank based on one year of data, but nevertheless her ranking that year was number one, ahead of even Senator Bernie Sanders.
Breitbart published 17 examples of Harris’ far-left record:
- Co-sponsored legislation to protect illegal immigrants from deportation
- Backed Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All legislation
- Backed banning private health insurance
- Supported giving taxpayer-funded coverage to illegal immigrants
- Supported banning fracking
- Backed defunding the police
- Compared ICE to the KKK
- Wanted to ban plastic straws
- Defended banning offshore drilling
- Wanted to “undo” the Trump administration’s border security, taking 94 executive actions in their first 100 days to rescind nealy every Trump-era measure
- Supported decriminalizing illegal border crossings
- Said she wouldn’t “treat” illegal aliens as “criminals”
- Called for “starting [ICE] from scratch”
- Argued that temporarily closing the border violated federal law
- Raised money for the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a far-left organization that pays to bail out of jail violent criminals, including accused murderers and rapists.
- Supported Los Angeles’s cuts to their police department
- Called efforts to add more police to the streets “wrongheaded thinking”
Breitbart failed to mention Harris’ abortion record, which is undeniably pro-abortion. According to World News Group, “The vice president has spoken at more than 90 pro-abortion events in 21 states since the Supreme Court threw out Roe v. Wade in 2022. Her Fight For Reproductive Freedom tour included a visit to a Planned Parenthood facility in Minnesota in March—the first time a U.S. president or vice president has ever visited an abortion center while in office, the White House said.”
One of the most telling actions Harris has taken on abortion occurred when she was Attorney General of California. Undercover reporter and pro-life activist recorded Planned Parenthood employees detailing gruesome and illegal organ harvesting of aborted babies, which were then sold at a profit to Planned Parenthood. They denied it and accused Dalieden of violating a state law related to recording without knowledge.
World reported, “Harris ordered a raid on Daleiden’s home in 2015, the same week that Planned Parenthood’s political action committee donated to her U.S. Senate campaign, Daleiden’s attorneys noted. That year, Harris also promoted state legislation that forced pregnancy centers to refer clients to facilities that provided abortions, which the Supreme Court eventually struck down as unconstitutional. Xavier Becerra, who is now the U.S. secretary of health and human services, succeeded Harris as California attorney general and charged Daleiden with 15 felony counts. A trial in the case is still pending.”
After Harris announced her run for President, all of the major pro-abortion groups expressed support. Harris has proposed that states would have to clear laws that restrict abortions with the federal Department of Justice.
Much has been made of Harris’ word salads, her ability to say next to nothing, yet do so with many words in a tone that seems as if she is relaying vitally important information. Yet on some topics, Harris’ positions are crystal clear and very progressive.
