Venezuelan Migrant Released From Jail After Mugging Elderly Woman in Chicago – American Faith

In Chicago, a Venezuelan migrant, Elio Redondo Ragas, was released from jail after allegedly mugging an 80-year-old woman.

Despite his criminal record and failure to appear in court, local prosecutors did not push for his detention, likely influenced by Chicago’s sanctuary city policies.

Police say that Ragas was riding a bike early in the morning when he sought out the woman, snatched her purse, grabbed the hat off her head, and then took off on the bike.

Two men who witnessed the alleged robbery ran after Ragas and got hold of him and held him down until police officers arrived.

Judge Caroline Glennon-Goodman thus released Ragas from jail even though he had previously failed to appear in court in a case from October last year, Breitbart News reported.
