Army Intelligence Analyst Pleads Guilty to Providing Sensitive Information to China – American Faith

Army intelligence analyst Sergeant Korbein Schultz pleaded guilty to multiple charges on Tuesday, admitting to providing sensitive U.S. defense information to China.

Schultz, who was stationed at Fort Campbell, was arrested in March and held a top-secret security clearance. He was charged with conspiracy to disclose national defense information, exporting defense-related technical data without a license, and bribery of a public official.

According to the Justice Department, Schultz sold dozens of classified military documents to a contact in Hong Kong who he believed was connected to the Chinese government.

The information he disclosed included crucial details on U.S. military tactics, weapons systems like the F-22A fighter jet, the U-2 reconnaissance aircraft, and sensitive insights drawn from the Ukraine-Russia conflict that the U.S. Army planned to apply in its defense strategy for Taiwan.

Schultz also shared intelligence on Chinese military strategies and U.S. military operations in South Korea and the Philippines.

He faces a potentially severe prison sentence, with his sentencing scheduled for January 23, 2025.
