Vice President Kamala Harris Claims Core Values Unchanged in CNN Interview – American Faith

In an exclusive interview with CNN on Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris shared that her approach to policymaking might have evolved, but her core values remain steadfast.

During her singular comprehensive interview since being named the Democratic candidate, Harris emphasized her consistency in values, stating, “My values have not changed. So that is the reality of it.” She added, “I believe it is important to build consensus, and it is important to find a common place of understanding of where we can actually solve problems.”

The conversation also touched upon Harris’ previously stated intention to prohibit fracking immediately upon taking office, a position she championed in the 2019 Democratic debate where she declared, “There’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking, and starting with what we can do on Day One around public lands.”

However, she acknowledged a shift in her stance, referencing her decision to cast a pivotal vote in favor of increasing fracking leases.

The response from former President Donald Trump’s campaign was swift, highlighting, through an email, Harris’ admission in the interview that “My values have not changed.” The campaign proceeded to list what it referred to as “Kamala’s Values,” criticizing her policies on immigration, criminal justice reform, and healthcare for unauthorized immigrants, among other issues.
