President-elect Donald Trump officially secured Nevada on Saturday, marking the final win in the seven key swing states, Politico confirmed.
Trump achieved a decisive 3-point victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in Nevada, winning 50.7% to Harris’s 47.4%.
This victory brings Trump’s electoral vote total to 312, surpassing Harris’s 226, and pushes his popular vote count beyond 74 million. Trump is the first Republican to carry Nevada and its six electoral votes since President George W. Bush in 2004.
Some analysts had anticipated an advantage for Harris due to Nevada’s significant Latino population; however, Trump’s populist approach resonated strongly. In particular, his May announcement of a plan to make tips tax-exempt appealed to the state’s many hospitality workers.
Additionally, Democrat Senator Jacky Rosen successfully defended her seat against Republican challenger Sam Brown, despite strong efforts from Brown, who faced challenges from a funding shortfall and limited national support from Senate Republicans.
