Neil Cavuto Leaving Fox News After 28 Years – American Faith

Neil Cavuto, a familiar face on Fox News for nearly three decades, is leaving the network, with his final show scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Cavuto’s contract, which ends at the close of this month, will not be renewed.

Cavuto, who joined Fox News at its inception in the late 1990s, is one of the last remaining original on-air talents at the network. His departure, according to a Mediaite report, is not due to any personal conflict but rather a reflection of the changing dynamics within the media industry. Cavuto was offered a new contract, which he declined, choosing to step away from the network instead. The decision comes amid a wave of similar departures in the cable news industry, where many high-profile journalists have opted to leave rather than accept reduced salaries.

Known for his candid and often independent commentary, Cavuto was a unique voice on Fox, especially during his dayside programming. He did not shy away from calling out President-elect Donald Trump, despite facing backlash from some of his own network’s audience. Beyond politics, Cavuto was also open about his personal battle with multiple sclerosis and became a vocal critic of COVID-19 vaccine denialism after surviving a severe second bout with the virus.

Fox News expressed its gratitude for Cavuto’s impactful career, stating, “Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism, and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media. His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”

Until a permanent replacement is announced, Cavuto’s time slot will be filled by a rotating cast of anchors.
