Eric Metaxas’ interview with New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Cahn was nothing short of jaw-dropping. If you’ve followed Cahn’s work, you know he uncovers biblical patterns that echo in modern events. In his latest book, “The Dragon’s Prophecy,” he may have outdone himself.
Cahn opened the interview with a revelation that sent chills down the spine: “One of the mysteries here is… I was actually sharing at the congregation in Beth Israel… on a Friday night, and I was led to share about a mystery from the Bible.” That mystery? A biblical pattern pointing to an attack on Israel in 2023, in October, on a Sabbath, and on a Hebrew holy day.
“And the next morning it happened.”

The night before Hamas’ surprise assault on Israel, Cahn was unknowingly describing its exact timing. “This is one of the mysteries of the book… that God is in charge, and it may even enable us to know a number of events to come.”
Cahn’s book explores Jubilee Mysteries, pointing out that every 50 years, major shifts occur in Israel’s history.
“The first thing was 1867… the land is actually released by the Sultan….”
Fast forward: 50 years to 1917, the Balfour Declaration; 1967, the Six-Day War; and 2017, Trump’s Jerusalem Declaration.
Then came 2023. “The Yom Kippur War happened in October. This was going to happen in October. The Yom Kippur War happened on a Saturday, a Sabbath. This happened on a Saturday, a Sabbath.” History, once again, repeated itself.
But “The Dragon’s Prophecy” isn’t just about one attack. Cahn argues that a deeper war has been waged for millennia. Revelation 12 describes a dragon warring against a woman with 12 stars, symbolizing Israel. “The enemy takes the things of God and twists them, inverts them.” He makes an interesting claim: the term “Palestinian” is linked to “Philistine.” “They don’t call themselves Palestinians in Arabic. They call themselves Filastini—literally, Philistines.” And where was ancient Philistia? “The Gaza Strip.”
History, Cahn insists, isn’t just repeating—it’s being reenacted. Hamas’ attack was code-named Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. “They don’t know this. But that’s exactly what it was.” In Revelation, the dragon sends a flood to destroy Israel.
So what does this mean for us today? “God is in control. God is real. The God of Israel is real. And what the Bible said is actually coming forward.” He warns we are moving closer to the final battle. “We have to fight. We cannot just take what’s happening.”
No matter how intimidating the dragon appears, “Good does win. The Lamb wins. And if you’re following Him, you win.”
