During his first term in office, President Trump was frequently undermined by federal employees who seemed determined to render his administration ineffective. Now, the President is taking action against some of these bad actors.

The president signed two executive actions on Wednesday ordering probes into the conduct of Miles Taylor, a former senior Department of Homeland Security official, and Chris Krebs, the former head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). …

Taylor gained fame in the media after revealing himself in public as the author of an anonymous op-ed in The New York Times in which he claimed to be part of the “resistance” to Trump inside the administration. …

“While serving as an administrative staff assistant at the Department of Homeland Security, Taylor stoked dissension by manufacturing sensationalist reports on the existence of a supposed ‘resistance’ within the Federal Government that ‘vowed’ to undermine and render ineffective a sitting President,” it said. …

Krebs was in charge of cybersecurity in the first Trump administration and also led on election security. …

Krebs “is a significant bad-faith actor who weaponized and abused his Government authority,” Trump’s memo says. “Krebs’ misconduct involved the censorship of disfavored speech implicating the 2020 election and COVID-19 pandemic.” …
