On April 8, 2025, Intercessors for America launched the first Insights and Intercession gathering in Washington, D.C., under the leadership of IFA staff. IFA staff already spend hours at our Capitol developing relationships with elected leaders as well as their staff, and we got to bring people from all around the country to pray for those leaders. Recently, IFA added a new position of Legislative Liaison, filled by Heather Stoner, who serves as the point person for IFA’s relationships on Capitol Hill and helped shepherd this new event.
Find out when your state prays.
Having held the first Policy and Prayer in Pennsylvania and attending the Gatekeeper conferences when it first launched, we felt compelled to step out and be a part of this newest venture. Once again, we were not disappointed by what God can do.
The city was alive with activity in addition to the beauty of springtime and the treasured cherry blossoms. The group assembled on the first late afternoon for a welcome reception hosted by IFA staff. Intercessors from Massachusetts, Virginia, Colorado, Florida, and Pennsylvania came together to listen to the Holy Spirit and gain “on-site insight for informed intercession.”

April 9th, the first full day, was filled with divine appointments. We met in the morning and began the day with a message from our CEO, David Kubal. Setting the tone for the day with teaching from his latest book, “Impacting Generations,” which will be released the first week in May, we were charged and ready to walk to our Capitol, fully aware that we walked together in unity and authority to tear down and build up in this seat of government. Just ordinary people doing extraordinary things, you might say.
Kris Kubal, IFA Chief Program Officer, had prearranged a special privilege to sit in the Gallery of the House of Representatives. Security was very tight, and after going through screening multiple times, we were finally seated and began to survey the room that we have seen so often on news reports and special events. The seat of the Speaker of the House, the podiums where elected Representatives give opinions and speeches, the balcony seats where special guests are seated during the State of the Union, God knew this room needed to be saturated with prayer…so we did just that.
The House side of the Capitol was buzzing with activity as they were in session, and the haggling over the “big, beautiful bill” was in full motion. Speaker Mike Johnson was put to the test again. You could feel the urgency of the moment, and once again, we knew that the “insight” would fuel our “intercession.” So, we prayed. After a sleepless 30 hours for the Speaker and Representatives, the bill passed with just a two-vote margin.
After enjoying lunch in the Senate cafeteria, we were off to the next assignment. We were scheduled to meet Representative Nathaniel Moran from Texas along with his staff. After a bit of a delay, which we used to put intercession into practice, he was able to join us and share his story of the call of God on his life to enter the political realm. Being in this hub of activity on Capitol Hill, we realized how fluid their lives must be and how “scheduled appointments” are sometimes forced to shift at a moment’s notice. But the Holy Spirit would remind us that time is never wasted when we use each precious pause to intercede on site. The borrowed time away from the pre-planned meetings was spent with our small, intimate group of intercessors praying for the immediate needs and decisions of our nation.

The following day, April 10th, we first started the day with a message from Kris Kubal about the Berlin Wall, intercession, and how it applies to today. We then went to the Clock Tower in the Capitol and prayed over the city in a 360-degree view of all the branches of government. This location is the second highest point over Washington, D.C., and proved to be the perfect site.
Our final appointed visit was to the Supreme Court. Once again, unbeknownst to us, the Holy Spirit had more divine appointments in store. We were blessed to meet a Security Guard who was determined to open the gates to the Court, and when we were informed that there was no more room for seating inside the courtroom, he guided our group to near the front of the courtroom, and we enjoyed a precious time of intercession in the current epicenter of the tug of war between good and evil. The Favor of God was all over this day from beginning to end.
There is so much more that we could share, but as they say, “You had to be there.”
In a nutshell, Insights and Intercession is not a conference, it is not a seminar, it is not an event. Insights and Intercession is an experience. No two will ever be the same. Although IFA sets a plan and an agenda, the Spirit of God interrupts as He sees fit in real time. The hot spots in government that need immediate intercession become the priority. Every watchman, every gatekeeper, every intercessor will find this assignment exhilarating.
So, as future dates are announced, set aside a few days and join a small group (no more than 30) of like-minded intercessors and be prepared to ride the wave! Your journal will be filled with lasting memories, and in the days after, you will record the answers to the prayers spoken as you gleaned from your time at Insights and Intercession. Thank you, IFA, for making this a new dimension for Intercessors for America. Click here to sign up for the next Insights and Intercession event!
