The Big, Beautiful Bill is slowly but surely making its way through the upper chamber of Congress, despite opposition from both sides of the political aisle.

There are some who vow never to vote on the bill, both in the lower and the upper chambers. Senator Ron Johnson, for example, has been outspoken in his opposition to the bill.

From Fox News:

“It’ll completely backfire on him,” Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., told Fox News Digital of any attempts by Trump to sway him on the current legislation.

Trump’s directive has been to deliver a bill that can survive the razor-thin majorities in both chambers.

Johnson, however, wants to see spending returned to pre-pandemic levels, cuts that are trillions of dollars deeper than what House Republicans could stomach. And he is ready to vote against the bill unless he sees the changes he wants.

However, no conservative has done as much in the public square to oppose the bill as Elon Musk, the once-friend of the Trump admin who lashed out against the President last week. Musk was quick to condemn the bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination.”

Despite this scathing rebuke and the following fallout, Senator Markwayne Mullin insisted that neither Musk’s comments nor his feud with President Trump are affecting the lawmakers currently working on the Big, Beautiful Bill.

From Breitbart:

When asked about the Musk abruptly turning on Trump this week — largely stemming from Trump’s support of the bill — Mullin put it this way: “Look, I love my wife dearly, and sometimes we have disagreements, and it’s worked out for 28 years. At the end of day, we still want what’s best for our family, and at the end of the day, I think they both want what’s best for the country.”

“They may have just a different views about it. Right now, they kind of have a little bit of a disagreement, but it doesn’t affect us in the Senate, it doesn’t affect us in the House,” the senator assured. “We’re going to deliver one big, beautiful bill for the American people.”

It is an answer to prayer that Musk’s disagreement with the President has not stopped the progress being made in the upper chamber. Let’s pray that God continues to strengthen our senators and give them wisdom so that they can deliver the best bill possible!
