As Hamas faces growing instability within Gaza, it has escalated violent crackdowns on its own people. Despite Hamas-orchestrated killings not being unheard of, the fact that the acts are public could indicate that the organization feels backed into a corner.

“The Hamas terror organization has recently begun to increase its efforts to re-impose its control over the areas of the Gaza Strip where it operates.”
Videos on social media show masked Hamas gunmen lynching civilians accused of looting aid or collaborating with Israel—acts carried out without trial, mercy, or due process. One execution was even broadcast by a Hamas-affiliated Telegram channel. The victim in question was a Gazan man whom Hamas accused of looting.

Humanitarian groups and journalists have also become targets. Omar Abdradou, an independent Gazan journalist critical of Hamas, was severely beaten. Hamas has also threatened the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, forcing repeated aid distribution shutdowns. Civilians seeking aid are being shot at with no resolution in sight, for the transgression of collecting aid from GHF distribution site. The violence Hamas inflicts on its own people exposes its brutality and desperation. While they claim to resist Israel, their actions are more appropriate as part of a regime built on terror and control. These are the same forces committed to Israel’s destruction.
As believers, we must lift Israel in prayer. Pray for God’s protection over His people, and for peace to triumph over terror. Pray also for the innocent in Gaza caught in the crossfire—that God’s mercy would reach them and His will would prevail.
