On Thursday, a grand jury formally indicted former FBI Director James Comey, accusing him of making a false statement before Congress and obstructing a criminal case.

Comey is being charged in relation to testimony he gave to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 30, 2020.

During that hearing, according to the indictment, Comey told the panel that he “had not ‘authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports’ regarding an FBI investigation concerning PERSON 1.”

The Department of Justice (DOJ) alleges Comey knew that to be untrue.

The Trump administration has been investigating Comey and other Obama administration officials for months now. In early August, for example, the FBI confirmed that Comey may have leaked confidential information to the New York Times. The FBI also put both Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan under criminal investigation over their roles in investigating the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.

In the face of this indictment, Comey is maintaining his innocence, according to The Epoch Times. He addressed the indictment in an Instagram video, stating his “heart is broken for the Department of Justice.” Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi addressed the indictment in an X post, insisting that “no one is above the law.”

As the DOJ and Comey prepare for this trial, let’s pray for the truth to be revealed and for justice to be done!
