Following Shooting, Anti-ICE Protests Erupt Nationwide – Intercessors for America

Reading Time: 2 minutes

On Wednesday, an ICE officer killed a protester in Minneapolis after she tried to run him over with her car. The very next day, a massive, shocking protest in Manhattan saw activists call for the deaths of law enforcement and Trump administration officials.

From the Daily Wire:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) faced an unprecedented surge in violence and hostility over the past year, a trend that culminated in a volatile demonstration at Foley Square in Manhattan on Thursday night, where leftist activists chanted slogans such as “Save a life, kill an ICE,” and “Kristi Noem will hang.”

Following the shooting death of anti-ICE protester Renee Good in Minneapolis, leftists have protested against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in various cities. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has directly linked this environment of animosity to the rhetoric of “sanctuary politicians” and certain media narratives.

Protestors in Manhattan repeatedly called for the deaths of ICE officers and Kristi Noem. One protestor called on the others to stop, shouting “two wrongs don’t make a right.” She was, however, quickly drowned out by the others in attendance.

You can watch a video of this protest by clicking here. Be warned, however, that the language in the video is quite disturbing.

And, as disturbing as this protest is, more are on the way. According to Axios, hundreds of “ICE Out For Good” protests are scheduled to take place across the nation this weekend.

Even more shocking than this protest, however, is the response of lawmakers. The Daily Wire notes that Tim Walz, governor of Minnesota, issued a curious statement the day after the shooting. In a brief clip posted to X, Governor Walz appeared to suggest he would deploy his state’s National Guard to protect Minnesotans from ICE officers. You can see that video for yourself below.

As IFA reported last year, attacks on and threats against ICE have increased dramatically since President Trump returned to office. In the wake of the death of Renee Good, however, it appears that ICE agents are in more danger than ever below.

Let’s pray for every law enforcement officer as they work to protect us!
