Last month, we had the Alien Invasion Festival in Spruce Pine. Over the last few years, I’ve noticed a subtle change in the event. It seemed before that it was a fun-filled sci-fi event with good food from street vendors and many patrons dressed up like various aliens, complete with drones flying over the crowds. It reminded me of the Halloween trick-or-treat event we have every year.

This year, we had all that, and everyone seemed to be enjoying it, but two things were different. First was the presence of more “furries,” and the second was the seriousness of the likelihood that we have been—and continue to be—visited by UFOs.

Many are seeking an explanation for these sightings. Our government is releasing many recorded videos of things that just can’t be explained under our laws of gravity and physics.

Both of these new interests in the festival, I believe, can be explained through our Scriptures.

First, the furries. Many who participate are just having fun dressing up in a costume; however, according to the International Anthropomorphic Research Project, furries are seven times more likely than the general population to identify as transgender and about five times more likely to identify as non-heterosexual.

Conclusion? The furries are searching for an identity, a purpose in life. They—many—have ruled out God, so they wander aimlessly in their quest.

Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision (of God), the people cast off restraint.” In other words, they’ll go for anything.

Second, the UFO interest. While there is a lot of fraud out there in UFO sightings, I believe there are many who witness strange sightings of objects that just don’t fit into the “strictly human” narrative.

Does the Bible speak to this? It certainly does.

Mark 13:22 says, “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.”

Doesn’t Jesus seem to be saying, “Hey, in the last days, you’re going to see a lot of strange things—in my opinion, demonic activity designed to fool us into believing in ET—Christian, don’t fall for it!”

Like the furries, followers of UFOs/UAPs enjoy entertaining the idea of little green men because it gives them an excuse for not believing in a personal God who gave us a moral code that they just don’t want to live by.

No God; no responsibility.

In summary, don’t be surprised to see even stranger things. Satan is trying to fool “even the elect,” for we are warned that illusions are coming.
