Labour Party Sees Major Victory in U.K. Elections – American Faith

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has resigned as the U.K.’s Conservative Party suffered a major loss during its elections.

“I have given this job my all. But you have sent a clear message, and yours is the only judgement that matters,” Sunak wrote on X. “This is a difficult day, but I leave this job honoured to have been Prime Minister of the best country in the world.”

The Labour Party won the general election in a landslide victory, securing 412 seats and gaining 211 seats overall.

Labour Party leader Kier Starmer is now Prime Minister.

Reform U.K., led by Nigel Farage, won five seats in the House of Commons, taking 14.3% of the vote, according to BBC.

“Good morning,” Farage said upon securing the seats.

Donald Trump congratulated Farage, writing on Truth Social, “Congratulations to Nigel Farage on his big WIN of a Parliament Seat Amid Reform UK Election Success. Nigel is a man who truly loves his Country! DJT”
