The Brew: ‘Happy Birthday’ Gives CNN the Blues, While AI Gives Us a New Beatles Tune – The Stream

Happy Flag Day!

Today marks the adoption in 1777 of the American flag by the Second Continental Congress.

“That the flag of the United States shall be of thirteen stripes of alternate red and white, with a union of thirteen stars of white in a blue field, representing the new constellation.”

That flag’s taking quite a battering. It’s not even the favorite flag of the White House anymore, replaced by the Pride flag. More on that in a second.

Former President Donald Trump Pleads “Not Guilty”

For the first time in American history, a former president has been arraigned on federal charges. The 45th President of the United States Donald Trump pleaded “not guilty” to 37 counts connected to his handling — or mishandling — of classified documents — that may or may not actually be classified.

Trump was not asked to take a mug shot, but he did give his electronic fingerprints. It remains to be seen just how much Biden’s fingerprints are all over what happened yesterday. (We can’t forget what Joe Biden said last year, “We just have to demonstrate that he will not take power if he does run, making sure he — under legitimate efforts of our Constitution — does not become the next president again.”)

After his arraignment, Trump stopped by a fabled Cuban restaurant. No surprise why. (Well, aside from the goodies. Wouldn’t you want to treat yourself to some comfort food after being dragged into court?) The Cuban-American community in Miami knows what this is about. They crossed shark-infested water in ragtag boats to escape it. All Trump needs is one on the jury.

The crowd shouted and sang “Happy Birthday,” in honor of his 77th birthday today. “Some birthday,” he cracked.

CNN couldn’t handle Trump being shown the love. Jake Tapper recoiled like a vampire to the morning light. “The folks in the control room, I don’t need to see anymore of that.”

Trump’s the one causing the spectacle? CNN covered every movement of Trump Tuesday with the intensity of the O.J. Bronco Chase and the giddiness of a royal wedding. And not for nuthin’, Jake, but ain’t that your network’s camera in Trump’s face?

While at Versailles, Trump was prayed over, by both Christians and Jews.

What Time’s That Lightning Bolt, God?

Flying the Pride flag in a place of honor ahead of the American flag was only part of the decadent display over the weekend at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

From The Blaze: “Transvestite flashes fake breasts below White House’s prominently flown Pride flag after taking photo with the Bidens.”

The transvestite was joined by a pair of transgenders happily displaying their chest scars.

Said one commenter on the tweet: ”I thought Biden was bringing decency back to the White House.”

Took three days of outrage, but the White House now says the trans flasher Rose Montoya won’t be allowed back.

White House Has No Interest In Protecting Girls

He’s certainly not bringing safety to girls. At the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre went off on a reporter who asked about parents concerned about their daughters competing against biological males. Last time a woman was that angry at the White House, Bill Clinton was nearly decapitated with a lamp.

Jean-Pierre scolded the reporter, telling him it was a “dangerous thing to say.”

You want to talk dangerous? Why not ask N.C. high school senior Payton McNabb, spiked in the face by a male last year. Still crippled by neck pain, head pain. In addition, she testified, “Other injuries I still suffer from today include impaired vision, partial paralysis on my right side, constant headaches, as well as anxiety and depression. My ability to learn, retain, [and] comprehend has also been impaired.”

Target Stores in Five States Evacuated After Bomb Threats … Allegedly From LGBTQ Activists

We keep hearing how the threat level against transgenders and other LGBTQ types is on the rise. And just heard that it is “dangerous” to question whether parents should be concerned if their girl has to square off against a biological male. Yet here’s another story about how the violence is coming from the activists. Over the weekend, Target stores in at least five states had to be evacuated after bomb threats. Conservatives or Christians upset at Target’s Pride indoctrination obsession? No. Apparently the culprits were upset that Target had moved/removed some of the offensive merchandise.

By the way, where’s the Nashville shooter’s manifesto?

I Get By With a Little Help From My Artificial Friends: AI Helping Create New, “Final” Beatles Song?

Artificial Intelligence may have devastating consequences for humanity … but it is at least giving us a new Beatles song. And raising interesting questions.

Thanks to AI technology, a “final” Beatle song could be released later this year, Paul McCartney revealed Tuesday. McCartney told the BBC:

When we came to make what will be the last Beatles record — it was a demo that John had that we worked on and we just finished it up, it will be released this year — and we were able to take John’s voice and get it pure through this AI. So then we were able to mix the record as you would normally do.

But what song? McCartney wouldn’t say, but the BBC suggests it’s a 1978 Lennon song called “Now and Then” that was in a batch of rough demos he put on a tape labeled “For Paul.” (The seeds of a renewed partnership that might have been?) Years after Lennon’s murder, two of the songs were finished by the surviving Beatles for the 1996 Anthology project “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love.” However, Sir Paul would later say, George Harrison thought John’s vocal for “Now and Then” was “rubbish.” Plus there was a buzz on the demo.

McCartney has long said he wanted to finish the song. “It didn’t have a very good title, it needed a bit of reworking, but it had a beautiful verse and it had John singing it,” he once told Q Magazine. (You can hear the demo yourself.)

If it’s true “Now and Then” is the song, then apparently the AI was able to turn the “rubbish” vocal into a worthy Lennon performance.

Before we shout “Yeah, Yeah, Yeah,” McCartney says the technology used to “extricate,” manipulate and recreate Lennon’s voice is “kind of scary.”

The news of the new Beatles tune sparked a discussion among The Streamers. Would you want AI to help “finish” Beethoven’s “Unfinished Symphony,” or Mozart’s “Requiem”?
