School officials stop Josh Alexander from attending his brother’s graduation over ‘Save Canada’ hat – LifeSite

(LifeSiteNews) –– High school student and pro-family activist Josh Alexander says he was barred from watching his younger brother’s elementary school graduation by administrators because he was wearing his trademark “Save Canada” baseball cap.

Alexander, who is a 17-year-old former grade 11 student of St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, in Renfrew, Ontario, posted a video to Twitter last week which detailed his ordeal in trying to attend his brother’s graduation ceremony.

In the video, Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) superintendent Jacqueline Poirier can be heard telling Alexander, “Josh, I already told you,” then adding, “I gave you the option [to remove the hat or leave].”

Alexander can be heard telling Poirier, “I’m here to watch my little brother’s graduation.”

According to Poirier, the “Save Canada” hat goes against RCDSB’s policies, and as the graduation was held on school property, the code of conduct was in effect.

“And the code of conduct is we’re not going to have the hats on,” she said to Alexander.

Alexander said to Poirier, “the option is you don’t like my personal views, that’s your issue, not mine, I’m here to watch my little brother’s graduation.”

In the video, one of Alexander’s friends can be heard observing that many people at the event reportedly had hats on. Poirier then can be heard saying, “Do they [the hats] say, ‘Save Canada’ on them?”

Alexander’s friend then asks, “What’s wrong with ‘Save Canada’? Is it hateful?”

At this point, Poirier realized that she was being video recorded and said, “I don’t approve of you recording me, so turn it off.”

Alexander then said outside of Cobden District Public School, where his 14-year-old brother was reportedly graduating, that security had him and two of his friends removed “simply for wearing the red hats.”

According to Alexander, security at the event “already knew” who he was and introduced themselves to him.

He added, “We refuse to compromise our values because of the woke indoctrination system’s demands.”

“And now here we are in the rain in Cobden. God bless,” added the young man.

For those familiar, Alexander was famously banned from attending classes at aforementioned St. Joseph’s Catholic High School last year for saying there are only two genders, and since then has gained international notoriety for his fight against gender ideology.

In May, Alexander said that his parents, who work at the public school board in Renfrew as teachers, were removed from their jobs and placed on leave because of his outspokenness against gender ideology.

On May 17 at Western Canada High School in Calgary, Alberta, Alexander was arrested by members of the Calgary Police Service for staging a protest against gender ideology in schools.

He was later released, but not after he was detained for a time for speaking out against transgender ideology, and for handing out Bibles, some of which were burned by transgender activists.

As reported by LifeSiteNews, Calgary Police eventually charged a Black Lives Matter (BLM) activist with a hate crime for pushing Alexander during the Calgary protest, with Alexander himself remaining uncharged with any crime.

Still unable to return to school, Alexanderofficially filed a human rights complaint against the RCDSB, claiming his “creed” beliefs have been discriminated against.

Alexander will be making a special guest appearance at this year’s LifeSiteNews Canadian Gala, which will be taking place on July 18, 2023, in Markham, Ontario.
