The Brew: Museums are Like Newspapers and Sound of Freedom is Like a Really Big Box Office Hit – The Stream

Happy Thursday!

Glad to be back after three-plus days of roaring around the Nation’s Capital with Christians Engaged, praying and chewing the fat with a number of our elected officials.

For those who missed my reports, here they are:

A Couple Thoughts as I Decompress

Museums and monuments are like newspapers. On the very day we visited the Holocaust Museum, the U.S. Congress had to vote on a resolution declaring Israel is NOT a racist state, affirming support for the Jewish homeland, and condemning anti-semitism. This in the wake of Progressive Caucus Chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal telling some pro-Palestinian protesters, “I want you to know that we have been fighting to make it clear that Israel is a racist state.” And one day before the Squad boycotted a speech before a joint session of Congress by Israeli President Izaac Hertzog celebrating 75 years of Israel’s re-emergence and its friendship with the United States.

On the same day we walked through the U.S. Capitol taking selfies and spinning around Statuary Hall, Donald Trump reveals he’s likely to be indicted over J6. I couldn’t help but think of those hunted down and thrown in solitary for taking selfies and spinning around Statuary Hall.

A day after walking through Museum of American History exhibits condemning efforts to censor artistic expression, activists convince CMT to censor country star Jason Aldean’s anti-woke new song, “Try That in a Small Town.” And as those same exhibits celebrate those who overcame political targeting, we learn Aldean’s song reached #1 on iTunes.

IRS Whistleblowers … and Dog Whistles

Two IRS whistleblowers — including a gay Democrat — laid out in detail and under oath how the Biden DOJ manipulated, thwarted, blocked and ultimately ignored the IRS and prosecutor recommendations of numerous serious felony offenses for Hunter Biden. Said IRS Special Agent Joseph Ziegler, “It appeared to me, based on what I experienced, that the U.S. Attorney in Delaware in our investigation was constantly hamstrung, limited, and marginalized by DOJ officials.” Indeed, “At every stage, decisions were made that benefited the subject of this investigation.”

And as we’ve heard before, don’t you dare look into “The Big Guy.”

Instead of challenging the evidence, the Democrats attacked the whistleblowers, and, naturally, kept bringing up Donald Trump. However, a few members of Ways and Means took a rather curious approach. They ignored the witnesses and the evidence and instead blasted the use by Republicans of the phrase “two-tiered justice system.” It’s a racist, cultural appropriation to use it to describe what happens to critics of the regime and friends and family of the regime because the phrase has historically meant the “two-tiered justice system” for blacks.

Perhaps, if one were being extremely charitable, once could say, “We know it’s a dodge, but fine, whatever.” HOWEVER, they are using this to defend Hunter Biden.

You think a black guy smoking crack all over the place, pocketing hundreds of thousands without paying the taxes and writing off prostitutes on his tax forms, bringing hookers across state and international lines is going to get the deal Hunter got? Was that the way it worked in Baltimore, Rep. Kweisi Mfume?

Sound of Freedom to Break $100 Million Mark This Week. Trump Hosts a Screening

Sound of Freedom shows little sign of slowing down. The film is expected to break the $100 million mark at the box office. What’s more, it is running with the big boys. On Tuesday, Mission Impossible banked $7.27 million, Sound of Freedom made $5.45 million. The new Indiana Jones movie could manage only half that.

Last night, Donald Trump hosted a screening of the movie at his Bedminister golf club in New Jersey. Tim Ballard, star Jim Caviezel and producer Eduardo Verastegui were on hand, as was President Trump himself.

Ballard and Trump have met before. Four years ago, Ballard met with the then-President to discuss the need for The Wall to stop child sex trafficking.

Finally, a thanks to those who have stepped up to help us fight human trafficking. You can still help by prayerful considering partnering with the Rescue LIFE mission of our parent organization LIFE Today. They have been rescuing and restoring victims of sex trafficking here and abroad for years.
